  11. This is a fax-client for the HylaFax(tm) fax-server maintained
  12. and programmed by Sam Leffler (SGI).  It is totally implemented in Java and
  13. requires the Java Developer Kit (JDK) at least version 1.1.1
  14. (Package java, series d).
  15. It supports:
  16. * integrated phone book
  17. * sending faxes directly from the phone book
  18. * setting up job-parameters before sending a job and
  19. during processing of the job in the job-queue
  20. * removing jobs from the job-queue
  21. * direct viewing of received faxes (needs an external tiffg3 viewer
  22. or converter, for Linux/UNIX the converting is done by fax2ps from
  23. libtiff and viewing by ghostview or gv automatically by a script that
  24. comes with this package)
  25. * creating of serial-fax lists out of the phone book entries
  26. * automatic cover page generation (not very fast :-( )
  27. * auto-spooling (that's important for WINDOWS users)
  28. YES!!! This program is also running on WINDOWS and hopefully
  29. all the other platforms, that support Java by the JDK from Sun!!!
  30. It has been tested on WindowsNT 4.0 and it seems to run!!!!!
  31. * password prompting if the administrator of the fax server
  32. wants the users to access the server via password
  33. * JDBC Support
