  55. opendir(), closedir(), readdir(), and <A HREF="../lib/Pod/perlfunc.html#item_rewinddir"><CODE>rewinddir()</CODE></A> functions.</P>
  56. <P>The only objective benefit to using <CODE>DirHandle</CODE> is that it avoids
  57. namespace pollution by creating globs to hold directory handles.</P>
