  3. Preface
  4. -------
  5.  MapBook is the software which displays BitMap.  
  6. You can use MapBook in PalmOS above 2.0.  
  7. MapBook provide you with the function of a simple navigator 
  8. by linking GPS receivers which output data standardized NMEA0183.
  9.  You can also use MapBook as a map which you can write in 
  10. if you don't have GPS receivers.  
  11. MapBook accepts your input of labels based on map data.  
  12.  Off course, you can try more and more use because BitMap data 
  13. cannot only be used as maps.

  23. <>BitMap Converter 
  24.   Displays and converts BitMap files in Windows.  
  25.     1)  converts colour BitMap files into monochrome BitMap
  26.         files automatically.  
  27.     2)  inputs labels to maps and edits them on maps.  
  28.     3)  inputs the map area indicated by the latitude and 
  29.         the longitude because you know that you can be navigated.
  30.     4)  outputs converted data into the PalmOS database.

  32. <>MapBook 
  33.   Displays files converted by BitMap converters.  
  34.     1)  inputs and edits labels.  
  35.     2)  accepts data from GPS receivers, searches in registered 
  36.         databases, displays the corresponding map, shows 
  37.         the present place by the coordinates and the cursor.  
  38.         MapBook searches as follows; 
  39.           i)  searches in the database of the navigating area.  
  40.           ii)  displays the map.  MapBook adopts the narrowest 
  41.               area within the scope registered in the database.  
  42.               The database keeps area data indicated by 
  43.               the latitude and the longitude.  
  44.               The present latitude and longitude are sent from GPS.
  45.               You can switch to the new map according as 
  46.               you move if you provide some area data.  
  47.               You can also zoom if you keep different scope data.  
  48.     3)  MapBook can display your track within the present page.  
  49.         The track can be switched every second or every minute.  
  50.         Because MapBook doesn't save the track data, the track 
  51.         disappears if you switch the page.

  55. <>BitMap converter
  56. 1.  Menu
  57. 1.1 Open        --- opens BitMap files and converts colour BitMap 
  58.                     files into monochrome BitMap files.  
  59. 1.2 Save        --- saves converted data which is displayed 
  60.                     at that time into the PalmOS database.  
  61. 1.3 Grid        --- displays grids indicating the scope displayed 
  62.                     on the PalmPilot.  
  63. 1.4 Title set   --- sets the navigation information and the titles 
  64.                     displayed at the map list on the PalmPilot.  
  65. 1.5 Dither      --- Dither Effect select.

  68. 2.1 Click       --- inputs labels.

  70. 3. Dialogue box inputting titles
  71. 3.1 Title       --- titles displayed at the map list.  (20bytes)
  72. 3.2 Navigation  --- checks the area because you know that you can be navigated.
  73. 3.3 Upper left
  74.      Latitude   --- specifies the upper left latitude.  
  75.      Longitude  --- specifies the upper left longitude.  
  76. 3.4 Lower right
  77.      Latitude   --- specifies the lower right latitude.  
  78.      Longitude  --- specifies the lower right longitude.

  81. 4.1 Label       --- inputs labels displayed on the maps.  (10bytes)
  82. 4.2 Icon        --- checks whether an icon is added to a label.  
  83. 4.3 Comment     --- adds the comment displayed when the corresponding label
  84.                     is tapped.  (40bytes)

  93. 2.1 Title       --- title list
  94. 2.2 View        --- button which displays a selected title.  
  95. 2.3 Info        --- button which displays the navigation information 
  96.                     and the latitude and the longitude about a selected title.
  97.                     This button also changes their information.  
  98. 2.4 Del         --- deletes a selected title.  
  99. 2.5 Navi        --- starts the navigation.

  101. 3. GPS information
  102. 3.1 Display data from the GPS receiver
  103.                 --- This is also displayed 
  104.                     when the corresponding map isn't found.
  105. 3.2 Exit        --- returns to "Map list".

  107. 4. Map operation
  108. 4.1 Map         --- displays the BitMap.  
  109.                     Please tap "Map" screen if you don't want to be navigated.
  110.                     Then "Dialogue box inputting labels" is displayed.  
  111.                    "Dialogue box for editing" is displayed if you tap a label.  
  112.                     However the comment is displayed for 5 seconds 
  113.                     if you tap a label during the navigation.  
  114. 4.2 Cross       --- scrolls the map.  
  115. 4.3 Antenna     --- interrupts the navigation and restarts it.  
  116. 4.4 Satellite   --- checks GPS by the reference display data and 
  117.                     indicates the navigation starting.  
  118. 4.5 N<->E       --- displays the navigation information and the latitude 
  119.                     and the longitude about the displaying map.  
  120.                     This button changes their information.  
  121. 4.6 Document    --- Label Edit/Display mode select.
  122. 4.7 Door        --- returns to "Map list".

  124. 5. Preference
  125. 5.1 Trace       --- specifies the tracing display.  
  126.                     For example, if you specify "1sec", the trace is displayed 
  127.                     when you were moving for more than 1 second.

  129. Caution
  130. -------
  131.  This software is shareware. $10 or 1000yen.
  132.  
  133.  These maps data are only converted into monochrome BitMap files.  
  134. They aren't compressed.  Please take care of data size when you do 
  135. conversion and registration.  
  136.  
  137.  If you have any trouble with this software, I have nothing to do with it.  
  138. Please use this software on your own responsibility.  
  139.  
  140. Don't use old version's data. Remove it.
