  6. This is a tutorial for those wanting to learn how to program using Visual Basic. It can be used by teachers and lecturers as a resource for their students. It can also be used by independent learners.

The Evaluation Copy is limited to roughly a quarter of the course and can be freely used - if it is distributed then that's fine, provided that this readme.txt file is included. The full version  runs to about 190 pages in Word 97 format, and somewhat less in HTML format. Different versions are available to cover Visual Basic version 4 and also Visual Basic versions 5 and 6. It is distributed on a shareware basis for the modest sum of 12 UK Pounds Sterling (around US$20) - see below.

  10. The material has been developed over a period of time and aims to cover the basic principles by the use of structured examples to progressively build essential skills.

  18. So that your system display is compatible with our screenshots, you may wish to setup your system in a similar way to ours. Here are the main steps:

  23.    click Identifier Text
  24.    choose magenta for Foreground colour

  29.    uncheck Properties Window
  30.    uncheck Project Explorer
  31.    uncheck Toolbox

  33. 2. Tools -> Options -> Advanced tab

  36. 3. Tools -> Options -> Editor Format tab

We consider it fair to point out that, if you are ordering this for use in a school/college, then we are happy to supply the material on a one-per-establishment basis such that no site license is necessary. Anyone who distributes copies of the full product beyond this limit will have to live with that on their conscience and they are advised to consider whether that burden of guilt is tolerable...
