Vienna 2.3 Readme File
======================
This file contains additional information to supplement the
installation guide. It contains the following sections:
1. Testing the Demo File
2. New features in Vienna 2.3
3. Uninstalling Vienna 2.3
4. Important note
1. Testing the Demo File
To test the demo file (VOIPERPN.SF2)
- open the file in Vienna 2.3, or
- use the AudioHQ SoundFont applet to load the file into
bank 1, and then play the MIDI file ZEBRAPER.MID.
2. New Features in Vienna 2.3
- Now, you can double click a sample and the assigned Wave
editor will be automatically started to edit the sample.
- You can have up to 4 MIDI controller bars to send real-time
controller messages to your MIDI synth. By default, only
1 controller bar is active. You can activate the other
MIDI controller bars via the View command on the menu.
3. Uninstalling Vienna 2.3
To uninstall Vienna 2.3, take note of these:
- Before uninstalling, you must quit Vienna 2.3.
- Some of the files used by Vienna 2.3 can be found in the
Windows directory. The files are shared by other applications.
The uninstallation program will prompt you when it tries to
delete these files. Choose not to delete the files unless you are
very sure that they are no longer needed by Windows.
- The uninstallation process removes only the files which were
installed by the Vienna installer. Files which you have added
to the directory which contains Vienna will not be removed.
You will have to manually delete these files after the
uninstallation process is completed.
- You must reboot your system to uninstall completely.
4. Important Note
- Sound Blaster Live! devices chosen in Vienna 2.3 and
other MIDI applications are now used exclusively. That is, if
you had chosen "A: SB Live! MIDI Synth" in Preferences,
Devices, then you cannot use that device in a MIDI
application simultaneously, because Vienna 2.3 already has
exclusive use of the MIDI device. You can, however, use
the secondary MIDI device "B: SB Live! MIDI Synth" in the
MIDI application, as SB Live! is a dual-port MIDI device.
