  1. Vienna 2.3 Readme File

  4. This file contains additional information to supplement the 
  5. installation guide. It contains the following sections:

  13. 1. Testing the Demo File
  14.  
  15.     To test the demo file (VOIPERPN.SF2)
  16.  
  17.     - open the file in Vienna 2.3, or
  18.     - use the AudioHQ SoundFont applet to load the file into 
  19.       bank 1, and then play the MIDI file ZEBRAPER.MID.
  20.  
  21. 2. New Features in Vienna 2.3
  22.  
  23.     - Now, you can double click a sample and the assigned Wave 
  24.       editor will be automatically started to edit the sample.
  25.  
  26.     - You can have up to 4 MIDI controller bars to send real-time 
  27.       controller messages to your MIDI synth. By default, only 
  28.       1 controller bar is active. You can activate the other
  29.       MIDI controller bars via the View command on the menu.

  31. 3. Uninstalling Vienna 2.3
  32.  
  33.     To uninstall Vienna 2.3, take note of these:
  34.  
  35.     - Before uninstalling, you must quit Vienna 2.3.
  36.    
  37.     - Some of the files used by Vienna 2.3 can be found in the 
  38.       Windows directory. The files are shared by other applications. 
  39.      The uninstallation program will prompt you when it tries to 
  40.      delete these files. Choose not to delete the files unless you are 
  41.      very sure that they are no longer needed by Windows.
  42.  
  43.     - The uninstallation process removes only the files which were 
  44.       installed by the Vienna installer. Files which you have added 
  45.       to the directory which contains Vienna will not be removed. 
  46.       You will have to manually delete these files after the 
  47.       uninstallation process is completed.

  49.     - You must reboot your system to uninstall completely.

  51. 4. Important Note
  52.  
  53.     - Sound Blaster Live! devices chosen in Vienna 2.3 and 
  54.       other MIDI applications are now used exclusively. That is, if 
  55.       you had chosen "A: SB Live! MIDI Synth" in Preferences,
  56.       Devices, then you cannot use that device in a MIDI 
  57.       application simultaneously, because Vienna 2.3 already has
  58.       exclusive use of the MIDI device. You can, however, use
  59.       the secondary MIDI device "B: SB Live! MIDI Synth" in the 
  60.       MIDI application, as SB Live! is a dual-port MIDI device.
