  3. Welcome to Lochness, the quick-thinking solitaire game! 
  4. Lochness is a fast and easy solitaire whose challenge 
  5. lies in trying to score the most points for a given hand. 
  6. Your goal is to empty the 7 stacks by building runs of 
  7. cards going up or down in rank, regardless of suit. 
  8. Jokers and free cards make the going easier. Score extra
  9. points every time you build a complete "Lochness Monster".
  10. Lochness includes background music, sound effects, two 
  11. different scoring systems, and a high score list to track 
  12. your progess.

  18. Lochness requires no setup or installation program.
  19. To run Lochness, just copy all of its files to a folder 
  20. on your hard drive (e.g. C:\Lochness), then double-click 
  21. the file called LOCHNESS.EXE.  It's that simple.

  27. Lochness is distributed as a shareware program.  This means 
  28. you are free to evaluate it for a limited time (10 days), and
  29. that if you continue to play it after this period, you must
  30. send a license fee ($7) to the author to "register" your copy
  31. of the program.

  33. Of course, nothing bad happens after 10 days.  So really, 
  34. this just means that I personally would really appreciate it
  35. if you would send in your registration.  Why should you?
  36.  
  37. * Because it gives you a chance to offer feedback/suggestions.
  38. * Because it helps me improve the game and write more like it.
  39. * Because it gets rid of the annoying download timer and 
  40.   removes the 30-game limit.
  41. * Because it helps support the shareware game industry, 
  42.   which brings you low-cost, high-quality games like this.
  43. * Because it's the right thing to do.
  44. * Because it's so cheap -- less than the price of a pizza!

  46. So how do you register?  Just print out a copy of the 
  47. ordering form found in the file ORDER.TXT.  Fill it out and 
  48. send it along with a check for $7 (U.S. dollars) to:
