  10. Welcome to The Video Store.  The Video Store is a Point-Of-Sale (POS)
  11. system to operate a video rental store.

  43. II.   INSTALLATION

  45. The Video Store requires any IBM PC compatible computer with a hard 
  46. disk drive.  Prior to installation, verify that the CONFIG.SYS file meets
  47. the following requirements:

  50.         BUFFERS=20
  51.  
  52. To run the software, enter VID at the DOS prompt.

  55. The following environment variable commands are supported:
  56.  
  57.    SET VID=COLOR          Forces the program to operate in color mode.
  58.  
  59.    SET VID=MONO           Forces the program to operate in monochrome mode.

  65. III.  ONLINE HELP

  67. Online Help is available from inside the program.  It may be activated by
  68. pressing ALT-H from anywhere in the program.  The registered version
  69. includes a printed manual that explains every feature in detail.

  74. IV.   HARDWARE SUPPORTED

  76. The following hardware is supported:

  78.    * Modem                Any modem connected to a COM port.
  79.    * Cash Drawer          Cash Drawers connected to the serial or parallel port.
  80.    * Printers              Laser, Dot Matrix, or Receipt Printers.  Must be
  81.                   connected to the parallel port.
  82.    * Bar Code Scanner     Keyboard Wedge Device only.
  83.    * Pole Display         Connected to the serial or parallel port.

  89. V.    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  91. A document (MANUAL) has been included to show the basic
  92. operations of The Video Store software.

  94. A printed instruction book is included with the registered version of The
  95. Video Store software to explain every feature in detail.

  100. VI.   REGISTERATION
  101.  
  102. The Video Store is not a free program.  You are free to evaluate the 
  103. program.  The unregistered version has some invoicing limitations.
  104. If you decide that you wish to use The Video Store in your
  105. place of business, you are required to purchase a copy of the software.
  106. Once ordered, a registered version of The Video Store will be sent to you.
  107. You would also be entitled to unlimited free support at no extra cost.
