Welcome to the shareware version of MEDICAL ASSISTANT, Version 2.0. The trial version only includes 100 topics. In order to receive the remaining topics, registration is necessary. The cost of registration is $35.00. This version of Medical Assistant is not public domain or free software, but is being distributed as shareware for evaluation purposes. Non-registered users are allowed to use this software for a trial period of 3 weeks. At the end of this period if you desire to continue to use Medical Assistant, you must purchase a license by registering the software.
You are welcome to distribute the NON-REGISTERED form of Medical Assistant to others as long as there is no fee charged in connection with the distribution other than a nominal $5.00 fee to cover the cost of material and postage. This fee does not constitute a registration license fee to use the software. Medical Assistant must not be altered, but distributed as originally released, and it cannot be incorporated into other software, product or information being distributed, sold into other software, product or information being distributed, sold or offered for sale. As long as these rules are upheld, feel free to distribute the NON-REGISTERED version to all of your friends and co-workers. It may also be freely distributed via computer user's groups, software libraries, and electronic bulletin boards.
REGISTRATION
For a registration fee of $35.00 you will receive Medical Assistant, Version 2.0. This will license one copy for use on any one computer at any one time.
The registered version contains greater than 1000 medical topics embracing all of the specialties in medicine. Medical Assistant will have a new version annually which will include more topics and an update on previous topics.

INSTALLATION
All of the files required are included on your CD if you are a registered user. If unregistered, first unzip the Medical.zip file. These files include word view.exe (the viewer that is used to view Medical Assistant), Clinic-2 (Medical Assistant data files), and readme.
First, use windows explorer to access your CD drive. Then double click on wordviewer which will unzip the viewer and install the viewer on your hard drive. Once word viewer has been installed use word viewer to access Clinic-2 (Medical Assistant data files) on your CD. If you wish you may copy Clinical (Medical Assistant data files) to your hard drive, but this is not necessary. By leaving Clinical (Medical assistant data files) on your CD, you will be saving hard drive space, but it may run slower. The first time you enter Medical Assistant and attempt to access a topic from the table of contents, the data files will be repaginated which takes only a few minutes. Following this, all topics will be instantly accessed from the table of contents. To access a topic from the table of contents, just click on the page number of the topic you want to review. For best viewing, use page layout from VIEW on your menu bar at the top of the page of word viewer. You may also want to try online layout from VIEW.
