  6. WHAT IS ESA
  7. ===========
  8. If you have a retailing business (like a computer store/shop), and looking to
  9. increase productivity and customer satisfaction, this is a program to get started.
  10.  
  11. ESA is an easy to use point of sales quote price program which run under MS Windows 3.1,
  12. and MS Windows 95. There is two parts: The first part is a user-friendly Price quote
  13. software which allows a shop keeper to professionally prepare a quote (or several quotes)
  14. to customer on the spot. Both the shop keeper and the customer can interactively query
  15. the Quotation program, and thus provides several options to satisfy customer's
  16. requirements. A hard copy print out of the quotation can be issued to customer at the
  17. end of the query session.

  19. The second part is a flexible data editor for ESA. Using this program, user can customize
  20. ESA to individual business needs. All the pricing information such as product categories,
  21. groups, item descriptions, prices and Tax rates can be easily modified by user.

  32. HOW TO INSTALL IT

  35. This software requires around 6Mbytes of Harddisk space to install.
  36.  
  37. 1) Save the file esa1612c.zip (or esa3212b.zip) into an empty directory
  38.    (suggestion c:\esa_org), then unzip it.
  39. 2) Close all applications.
  40. 3) Among the unziped files, find a file called "Setup" (setup.exe). Run this
  41.    file to install it. The setup program creates an entry in your Start
  42.    menu (under Programs).

  46. STATUS OF ESA
  47. =============

  49. ESA is a shareware and can be freely distributed. There is a 30 days
  50. usable period per each install. The registration fee is AUD$62.

  75. 1) The 16bit version (esa1612c.zip) can only run with currency
  76.    symbol "$". Please use the 32bit version (esa3212c.zip) for
  77.    currency other than "$".

  79. 2) If possible, do not install the software under directory
  80.    "Program Files". The software will still work if you install
  81.    it under directory "Program Files". One problem is this: The
  82.    three files "savequot.dat", "saveextr.dat" and "saveitem.dat"
  83.    is locked after existing from the software "Electronic
  84.    Shop Assistance".
