  7.        This file provides information  for  Shareware  Distributors
  8.        and  Disk Vendors who wish to distribute the WinXs 4.0 pack-
  9.        age, including an extract from  the  license  agreement  and
  10.        suggested program descriptions and keywords.

  12.        DISTRIBUTION
  13.  
  14.        The complete license agreement  is  contained  in  the  file
  15.        LICENSE.TXT.

  17.        The following paragraph  is  an  extract  from  the  license
  18.        agreement  regarding  the distribution of the Shareware ver-
  19.        sion of WinXs:

  21.           Anyone distributing WinXs for any  kind  of  remuneration
  22.           must first contact the author at the address given in the
  23.           file REGISTER.TXT for authorization.  This  authorization
  24.           will  be automatically granted to distributors recognized
  25.           by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for  shareware
  26.           distributors,  and  such  distributors may begin offering
  27.           WinXs immediately  (However  the  author  must  still  be
  28.           advised  so  that  the distributor can be kept up-to-date
  29.           with the latest version of WinXs).

  31.        OBTAINING THE LATEST VERSION

  33.        Before distributing WinXs please verify that  you  have  the
  34.        latest  version.   The  latest  version  of  WinXs is always
  35.        available in the GO WINSHARE area on CompuServe, in the fol-
  36.        lowing files:

  54.        SUGGESTED DESCRIPTION
  55.  
  56.        WinXs for Windows is a suite of programs that  brings  Unix-
  57.        style tool functionality to the Windows platform.  This ver-
  58.        sion of the program runs on Windows 3.1, Windows  for  Work-
  59.        groups,  Windows  95 or Windows NT, and consists of a series
  60.        of 50 popular file and text  utility  commands  and  utility
  61.        applets.   Access  and  implement them using the menu bar in
  62.        the Windows File Manager, or the  Explorer  and  Taskbar  in
  63.        Windows  95/NT.   The distribution includes cat, cksum, cmp,
  64.        col, comm, compress, csplit,  cut,  dd,  df,  diff,  dircmp,
  65.        dos2unix, du, expand, file, find, fmt, fold, grep, hd, head,
  66.        join, ls, man, more, nl, od, paste, pax, pg, pr, sdiff, sed,
  67.        sort,  split,  strings,  tail,  tee,  touch, tr, uncompress,
  68.        uniq, unix2dos, uuencode, uudecode,  wc  whence,  xargs  and
  69.        others.

  71.        REQUIREMENTS

  73.        The 32-bit version requires Windows 95  or  Windows  NT,  at
  74.        least  8mb  of RAM and 4.5mb of disk space.  The 16-bit ver-
  75.        sion requires Windows 3.1  or  Windows  for  Workgroups,  at
  76.        least 4mb of RAM and 2.5 mb of disk space.
