  13. Master Converter is a powerful Windows utility designed to fill
  14. onespecific purpose: quickly and easily convert units of
  15. measurement.  The interface is extremely intuitive and user
  16. friendly, enabling even first-time users to convert from one unit to
  17. another without a hassle.

  19. Master Converter is pre-configured to convert over 580 units in
  20. 30 categories.  The categories include: length, area, volume, dry
  21. volume, time, speed, acceleration, mass, density, force, energy,
  22. power, pressure, flow, data storage, data transfer, dynamic
  23. viscosity, kinematic viscosity, temperature, temperature interval,
  24. capacitance, charge, conductance, thermal conductivity, angle,
  25. angular velocity, illumination, luminance, numbers, and fractions.

  29. You'll most likely find any unit you'll ever need already built in
  30. to Master Converter.  If you find Master Converter is missing a unit
  31. you need, it's a snap to add your own custom units or your own
  32. custom categories!  Master Converter will effortlessly grow to suit
  33. your needs.

  35. Master Converter is distributed as a shareware software product.
  36. This gives you the ability to try out the program before you pay for
  37. it, thus allowing you to see if it fits your specific needs.  If you
  38. find the program useful, you are asked to register the product.
  39. Registering Master Converter gets you a registration "code" that
  40. removes the opening wait screen on this and ALL FUTURE VERSIONS of
  41. Master Converter.  Once you register, there is no need to register
  42. again!  (Please see the online help file for the registration form
  43. and for pricing information.)

  45. Master Converter works with Windows 3.x, Windows 9x, and Windows NT.
  46. For Windows 9x and Windows NT users, there is a 32-bit version of
  47. Master Converter available.

  50. HOW TO INSTALL
  51. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  52. To install, simply run the MC16.EXE (or MC32.EXE if you have the
  53. 32-bit version of Master Converter) program from within Windows. The
  54. setup program will install all necessary files to a directory of
  55. your choice, and then create icons for you.

  57. If you later decide that Master Converter does not fit your needs,
  58. you may uninstall the program by double-clicking on the "Uninstall
  59. Master Converter" icon that was created when you installed Master
  60. Converter. (Windows 9x and NT 4.0 users will find the uninstall
  61. option in the Control Panel. Double-click on the "Add/Remove
  62. Programs" item to uninstall Master Converter.)

  66. HOW TO USE
  67. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  68. Double-click on the Master Converter icon to start the program.
  69. Converting units in Master Converter couldn't be simpler.  First,
  70. choose the CATEGORY of units that you're converting by clicking on
  71. the appropriate index tab on the bottom of the screen.  For example,
  72. length, area, or volume.  PLEASE NOTE that not all of the categories
  73. may be visible on the screen simultaneously. Because of this, small
  74. scroll buttons will appear on the index tab, allowing you to scroll
  75. the index tab left or right.

  77. Next, choose the unit that you're converting FROM, and then the unit
  78. you're converting TO.  For example, if you're converting from
  79. kilometers to miles, select "kilometer" in the left list box, and
  80. "mile" in the right list box.

  82. Lastly, type the value you're converting into the text box on the
  83. left. For example, type "3.5" if you are converting 3.5 kilometers
  84. to miles. The result will appear in the text box on the right.
  85. That's it!  Master Converter shows that 3.5 kilometers is equal to
  86. 2.174799173 miles.
