AT&O0ATDs dial for internal fax/modem call
AT&O2ATDs dial for ISDN data call
AT&O3ATDs dial for a/b adatper
* S is the phone number
(2) Using a prefix after ATD for a quick dial:
ATDMs dial for internal fax/modem call
ATDIs dial for ISDN data call
ATDBs dial for a/b adatper
* The prefix M means making a "Modem" call
* The prefix I means making a "ISDN" call
* The prefix B means making a "a/b adapter" call
* S is the phone number
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
Q14. How to set the calling-party-number/subaddress for each outgoing service?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A14. Each type of OUTGOING call can be assigned by "AT&ZOx=cgpn/cgsa/"
command, where
x="M" (for internal fax/modem call)
x="I" (for ISDN data call)
x="B" (for a/b adapter call)
cgpn=Calling Party Number (= MSN for outgoing calls)
cgsa=Calling Party Subaddress (= SA for outgoing calls)
So, you can assign your own number by this way:
AT&ZOM=cgpn/cgsa/ (cgpn/cgsa/ = your subscriber number and subaddress)
AT&ZOI=cpgn/cgsa/ (cgpn/cgsa/ = your subscriber number and subaddress)
AT&ZOB=cgpn/cgsa/ (cgpn/cgsa/ = your subscriber number and subaddress)
remember: the calling and called party numbers are defined always without
the local area prefix, eg: the ISDN number is +43-1-4941522
then the CGPN/CDPN is just the "4941522"
example: AT&ZOM=4941522/123/ calling party number & calling party sa
AT&ZOI=4941522/456/ calling party number & calling party sa
AT&ZOB=4941565 calling party number only
With the command "AT&ZO?" you will receive the list of the currently
installed number assignments for outgoing calls.
With the command "AT&ZOx=//" you can delete each specific entry so
that no calling party number & calling party subaddress will be sent
in the outgoing call.
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
Q15. What specific "Bundle two B channels" protocols are implemented in Elite
2864I to support either for 112Kbps or 128Kbps data transmission?
And how to charge?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A15. The basic rate ISDN consists of three logical channels(2B+D).
Each B channel can be used independently for a dial up connection with
either 56Kbps or 64Kbps line speed.
Elite 2864I can "Bundle" two B channels together to have 112Kbps or
128Kbps data rate. The following "Bundle" protocols are implemented
in Elite 2864I:
(0) X.75 "Multiple Link Protocol"(MLP): please refer to the AT&J3S100=0 command
(1) "cFos Channel Bundling" (CCB): please refer to the AT&J3S100=1 command
(2) PPP MP: Not available yet, it will be F/W upgradeable in future.
The charge for bundle connection is twice of single B channel.
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
Q16. How does Elite 2864I use the two B channels?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A16. The Elite 2864I has one data port and one voice port, you may use
one B channel for data call, and the other B channel for voice call at
the same time. Or you can bundle both the two B channels for data call.
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
Q17. I have problem to send fax from fax software. It always sets
hardcoded prefix with ATDT command and can not accept ATDM command.
How to solve this problem?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A17. You shall set initial string with AT&F&O0&L1 command for Elite 2864I.
This command will automatically set a default fax/modem call for dial
in and out. In this case, you can avoid to use ATDM command to specify
a fax/modem call and ATDT command will then make a fax/modem call.
=============================================================================
=============================================================================

AT&ZI1=999999
AT&ZI2=999999
AT&ZI3=999999
AT&ZI4=999999
AT&ZI5=999999
AT&ZI6=346322 --> for fax/modem call
AT&ZI7=999999
The other MSN set by 999999 won't answer any way.

A27. You may set your two Elite as this way:
+-------Elite AT&ZI0=6223001 for X.75 data call
| AT&ZI6=6223002 for fax/modem call
NT---S bus--+ AT&F&L1S0=1 set as initial string
|
+-------Elite AT&ZI0=6223003 for X.75 data call
AT&ZI6=6223004 for fax/modem call
AT&F&L1S0=1 set as initial string

Q28. There are 10 Elite 2864I in our bank for dial out only. Therefore, we
don't want the Elite to act for any incoming call. Is there any way to
disable it?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A28. Yes, we know some institutes may need this special function, so we
implemented one S register to reject the incoming call.
It is ATS118.0=1

Q29. We are the ISDN INTERNET service provider. Is it possible to disable
the fax/modem function in Elite, and let it work like as a pure ISDN TA ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A29. Yes, as far as the ISDN ISP concerned, they maybe don't need the internal
fax/modem function. So, we use one S register to disable the internal
fax/modem function and let it work like a TA without fax/modem.
It is ATS118.7=1

Q30. I connect my Elite 2864I to a NT1, but after power on self-test, the
B2 LED keep flashing. I can not dial out and also no possibility to
answer a call, please help !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A30. It seems to be the problem of layer 1 configuration. Sometimes TE need
to add the "Termination Resistors"(you may refer to ITU-T I.430/Figure
2). There are two resistors in the figure, one is built in NT1, another
is built in the farthest TEn (n=0-7) that connects to NT1.
The jumper JP1 and JP2 on the ISDN module of Elite are used to selecting
TR. So, our suggestions are:
a. if wiring configuration is point-to-point, it means only one
Elite 2864I is connected to NT, then it is necessary to enable the
TR by shorting JP1 and JP2 on Elite.
b. if the wiring configuration is point-to-multipoint, you must choose
one of the TEs to add TR, the farthest one from NT is recommended.

NT1/TR --------+---------+------TE1

Q31. Which setup do I have to use on my computer for the Elite 2864I to work
my INTERNET Providers ISDN router?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A31. Almost all INTERNET Providers uses PPP as the transport protocol.
And most uses PAP as the authentication protocol to access their routers
(some is also using CHAP).
The PPP async. to sync. HDLC setting(ATB40) can be sed to almost all
kind of different ISDN router. Here is a list of some ISDN routers
manufacturers equipment that the Elite 2864I work with:
CISCO
ASCEND
ACC
BINTEC
...
You can use either of the two above examples or some other WINSOCK
software to access INTERNET with your Elite 2864I.
