New Enhancement in version 1.2
------------------------------
1. CCP support
. Menu 11.2 'Remote Node PPP Option' can turn on STAC
Compression.
. Menu 11.2 add a new field 'Encapsulation' for 'Standard
PPP' or 'CISCO', since CISCO compression is different
from other CCP implementation.
. Default compression option is off.
2. MSN support
. New Menu 2 for DSS1 and 1TR6. (Refer to Appendix A for new Menu.)
. Support MSN
3. CLID authentication enhancement
. CLID can put in '?' for wild card of one digit.
4. Call control
. Budget Management
- Each remote node can set a 'buget' outcall time for a
configurable time interval
- Menu 24.9 to display current status and allow reset for each
remote node.
- All dial-in users in Menu 14 share one budget for callback
time. The value can be set in Menu 13 'Default Dial-in Setup'.
- Default 'budget' is set to 0 for no buget control
. Black list
- Two parameters:
Retry Count: how many times outcall failure will be tried.
Retry Timer: elapse time before next call attempt.
- Prestige maintain a list of 'unreachable' phone numbers.
Once a phone number outcall times exceed the 'Retry Count',
it will be put into this list, and the system admin must
manually enable the number before it can be dialed again.
- Default 'Retry Count' is set to 0 for no limitation.
5. Outgoing authentication protocol
Remote node can set the outgoing authentication protocol (PAP
or CHAP ) in Menu 11.
6. Modem/ISDN TA emulation mode support
SMT 24 will provide one option to go to Modem emulation mode,
and user can temperally use the Prestige and RS232 connection
as a regular modem to dial out.
Note: This emulation mode provide restricted modem function,
you can enter this mode and stay in the terminal
emulation software and make a modem outcall to places
such as BBS. User can use 'atdm' to dial out as modem,
and use '+++' and 'ath' to drop the line. To end the
modem emulation mode, enter '+++++' will restart the
system.
7. X.75 and V.120 Support for DSS1 and 1TR6
. Remote node can select X.75 or V.120 in Telco option for
outcall protocol.
. Incoming call protocol can be dectected automatically (no
setup needed from user.)
8. BOD default will be turned off. The screen will be as follows:
Base Trans Rate(Kbps)= 64
Max Trans Rate(Kbps)= 64
9. ISDN link status detection
If ISDN line is disconnected the ISDN firmware can detecte it and
Menu24.1 will show 'Down' for the link status of both B1 and B2.
When ISDN is plug back in, user need to do Menu 24.4.3 'ISDN
reset' to initialize the ISDN line again.
10. New CI command for setting CLID callback time
CLID callback starting time can be set through a CI command:
'dial timeout callback <seconds>'
This means that after Prestige use CLID authenticate one incoming
call, it will delay <seconds> before starting call back. The
default is 5 seconds.
Bug fixes
---------
1. Disable one IP remote node, but the packets to that remote node
will not be routed to 'default' route until system reset.
2. Menu 24.1 CLU and ALU is working properly.
3. Telnet hangs in Menu 24.1
4. DSS1 ISDN loop back test would fail sometimes.
5. Fixed SUA FTP and Telnet to some slow sites problem.
6. CCP problem with Cisco CCP.
7. Menu 24.1 CLU and ALU is working properly for dial-in user.
8. X.75 packet size problem solved.
9. For US switch types, problem with channel usage setting to switch/
unused sometimes the system cannot answer incoming calls is solved.
10. B2 TX/RX LED flickering problem solved.
Known problems list
-------------------
1. Some ISDN firmware problems:
- sometimes firmware will reset by itself when the traffic is
heavy on a modem connection.
- X.75/V.120 under heavy traffic will cause the firmware reset,
and Prestige will go into Debug mode.
- heavy use of POTS (A/B adapter), sometimes will cause the ISDN
firmware reset, and the system has to be reboot.
- Global digital call will still be answered if MSN selected as
'incoming call matching' method.
2. Modem Emulation mode does not support Win95 FAX program or Dial-up
network in this release.
3. When ISDN detects link is down, and after the link is back, you have
to manually initialize the ISDN by 'isdn init' command in CI or
select 'ISDN Reset' in Menu 24.4.3.

Loopback test:
. If Dial Prefix is not entered, then loopback will call the
number entered in 'ISDN Data' field for 1TR6, and for DSS1 loopback
test will also add the number entered in 'Subaddress' for the ISDN
Data field. In both switches, if the 'ISDN Data' is not entered,
then Menu 2 will skip loopback test.
