- This program will verify your CD-ROM System Configuration by analyzing your
- CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files, and, if necessary, allow you to modify and
- add the required lines to these files. It will also perform various other
- tests as required by your CD-ROM drive.
-
- If problems are detected, you will see a window pop up and you may be prompted
- for additional information; the program will then ask for confirmation
- before updating CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT, and, if necessary, the Windows
- SYSTEM.INI
-
- The basis for this program is to help you get your CD-ROM drive operating.
- However there are some circumstances that a program can not check for. If
- this is the first installation of this kit, it is possible that a cable is
- incorrectly attached or not connected. Check all the cabling before
- changing the default settings in this program.
-
- This program may give the impression that the drivers in the CONFIG.SYS
- & AUTOEXEC.BAT are incorrect, however, there may be nothing wrong with the
- driver's parameters, but the drivers are not loading for a some other reason
- (ie: cabling problems): this may be why this program ran automatically. If
- you have a customized menu or multiple boot configurations, this may cause
- the drivers not to load, and thus cause CD-ROM related problems. You may
- have to manually edit the system files and move the drivers to a location
- where they can load.
-
- As you wander through this program, please read all of the information
- carefully. The solution to your problem may be as simple as a cable
- connection or as complicated as an address or IRQ conflict. Read everything
- carefully, your problem may not stand out when your come across it.
