  6.                You may now register RAR via the Internet.
  7.  
  8.  Payment is accepted by Credit Card (Access/Visa/Barclaycard/Mastercard),
  9.  and will be charged to your account in US dollars.
  10.  
  11.  Simply complete the registration form below, and then use the following
  12.  step by step instructions for submitting your registration application.
  13.  
  14.  NB: It is NOT advisable to send the form in "plain text" mode via the
  15.  Internet, as your credit card details may be obtained by a third party
  16.  whilst in transit. The following procedure has been designed to protect
  17.  your personal details from falling into the wrong hands:
  18.  
  19.    1) Send an e-mail to "secure.rar@icon.sentinel.co.uk", where the text
  20.    of your message is ONLY a password that you intend to use. There should
  21.    not be any other text in the message, and the password should be between
  22.    five and eight characters long. It may be any combination of numbers and
  23.    upper-case letters, and should not include any spaces or punctuation
  24.    marks.  Connect with your internet provider and send the message
  25.    immediately it is ready to send, and before completing any other steps.
  26.    This will ensure that this message does not travel at the same instance
  27.    as the next message you are going to create.

  29.    2) Complete your registration form, and then save it to a plain text
  30.    file in the format <surname>.<intitals>, where <surname> is the first
  31.    eight characters of your surname, and <initials> is your intital(s).
  32.  
  33.    For example, in the case of someone named John Peters, the file should
  34.    be named PETERS.J
  35.  
  36.    Now, using RAR's password protection feature, compress the file into a
  37.    RAR archive, using the following command line, and the password you chose
  38.    in 1) above:

  40.          RAR A -M5 -P<password> <surname>.RAR <surname>.<intials>
  41.  
  42.    This will produce a small passworded file, containing your registration
  43.    form.
  44.  
  45.    The final stage is to convert your registration file into a text file
  46.    which can then be sent in for your registration to be processed.
  47.  
  48.    To do this, a popular utility, UUENCODE (available from most ftp sites,
  49.    and used extensively on the internet), should be used.
  50.  
  51.    The ouput file from UUENCODE should be imported into an e-mail message,
  52.    and sent to "priority.rar@icon.sentinel.co.uk" for processing.
  53.  
  54.    Providing your first message containing your password has been received,
  55.    your application will be un-encoded and processed. In the case of a
  56.    password arriving without a file, or a file without a password, you will
  57.    be notified after a period of 24 hours has elapsed.
  58.  
  59.    Applications will be processed immediately upon receipt, and are normally
  60.    ready for return within 24 hours. Your RAR Registration Code will be
  61.    returned to you in the same way as you sent in your application - in
  62.    other words, you will receive a UUencoded RAR archive, which you can
  63.    de-code, and then unRAR using the same password as you specified before.
  64.    Within the RAR archive will be a text file containing your RAR
  65.    registration details, and full instructions for inserting your code
  66.    into RAR.
