Future Domain
-------------
Select this option if you are using a Future Domain SCSI Host Adapter. The Pioneer device driver used with this SCSI Host Adapter does not require that an ASPI manager be installed.

Use the UP/DOWN arrows to highlight the menu choice that you wish to change.
To change a selection from the current value simply type in the new value. To edit a choice, press <F3>, this will allow you to edit the current value.
When you have finished and are satisfied with your choices, press the ENTER key to save the changes. Then you will return to the main menu where you may select Quick Install to proceed with driver installation.
MSCDEX Device Name
------------------
This is a unique name used by MSCDEX to communicate with the CD-ROM device driver. The normal convention is to start with MSCD000, then MSCD001, etc. The Quick Install procedure will search your CONFIG.SYS file and automatically choose the next available name.
Use EMS Memory
--------------
This will the device driver to be installed in expanded memory. By using EMS memory you can free up DOS base memory. Install will test for EMS memory and will install EMS support by default if EMS memory is present.
Install Pioneer CDP Support
---------------------------
The device driver has an optional CDP device that can be used to send mnemonic commands to the CD-ROM drive. This must be loaded to use the MPC.COM program that is included with the drive. The default is to install the CDP device.

Quick Install ** Recommended installation **
-------------
Select this option to install the Pioneer CD-ROM device drivers. When this option is selected, a new menu will pop-up and allow you to indicate the following:
* the drive letter where you want the device driver to be installed
* the path to the directory where the drivers will be copied
* the type of SCSI Host Adapter you have installed in your computer
For most users, the default options will be fine. Press <ENTER> to accept the choice and begin the driver installation procedure.
Custom Install
--------------
NOTE: In most instances, there is no need to use the Custom Install option. Users should only modify Driver, MSCDEX, or SCSI ID parameters if they fully understand correct usage. To reset the parameters to their original settings, select the Default Parameter option.
When you select Custom Install, a menu will pop-up offering you options to modify the Device Driver parameters, MSCDEX parameters, SCSI ID parameters and Default parameters. If you decide to change any of these parameters the program will return to Quick Install. To complete the installation of the drivers, select Quick Install.
Select this menu option to exit the installation procedure and return to DOS.

Use the UP/DOWN keys to hightlight the selection that you wish to change. When the proper selection is highlighted, type the new value that you wish to enter. Press <ESC> to return to the Main Menu.
CD-ROM Starting Drive Letter
----------------------------
By default, MSCDEX will start lettering CD-ROM drives with the next available drive letter. By entering a drive letter here you can specify the first drive letter for MSCDEX to assign.
Install Kanji Support
---------------------
This tells MSCDEX to load support for the Kanji (Japanese) file system.
Install MS-NET Support
----------------------
This instructs MSCDEX to install network support to allow sharing of CD-ROM drives on MS-NET based networks.
Number of MSCDEX Buffers
------------------------
By default, MSCDEX will load a number of buffers equal to 4 buffers for each CD-ROM disc mounted. Each buffer is 2k. You can change the number of buffers by entering a new value.
Provide Memory Statistics
-------------------------
If enabled, this will instruct MSCDEX to report all of its memory statistics when loaded.
Lastdrive =
-----------
DOS needs the drive letter in the "lastdrive=" statement in the CONFIG.SYS file to be greater than the last CD-ROM drive letter. It is recommended that you set this parameter to the letter Z. The default is "Lastdrive = Z".
If you are using a network redirector, like Novell, you may need to alter this line. Novell will usually install its first drive letter immediately following the "lastdrive= " value.

Driver Parameters
-----------------
This option allows you to edit the device driver paramters to be installed in the CONFIG.SYS file. The default parameters are shown in the line below:

MSCDEX Parameters
-----------------
When this option is selected, a menu pops up and allows you to edit the MSCDEX parameters. These parameters will be stored in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. The default parameters are indicated in the line below:
DEVICE=C:\PIONEER\MSCDEX.EXE /d:MSCD000
SCSI ID Parameters
------------------
When this option is selected, a menu pops up and allows you to disable the SCSI ID auto search feature of the device driver. This may reduce boot up time. The SCSI ID option must match the SCSI ID on the back the CD-ROM unit.
This option also allows you to install two Pioneer CD-ROM units daisy chained by specifying the SCSI ID, number of discs, and SCSI Host Adapter of the second drive.
Default Parameters

Select this option to return all settings to their defaults. This can be used to enable SCSI ID auto search.

Select this option to change the DOS Boot Drive Letter. Typically the Boot Drive should be C.

Press <F3> to select the SCSI Host Adapter being used. A menu will pop-up listing all of the available options. The default is Future Domain.
Enter
-----
Press <ENTER> to accept the options selected and to begin installation.

Press <ESC> to return to the main menu.
---- SCSI ID Parameters Help ----
Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to select desired option. Press <F3> to edit the highlighted option. Press <ESC> to exit back to the main menu without saving any changes. Press <ENTER> to save changes and return to the main menu.
NOTE: The default enables the SCSI ID auto search feature of the Pioneer CD-ROM driver. Changing and saving any of these options will disable the auto search feature. This may reduce boot up time.
SCSI ID of CD-ROM Drive
-----------------------
This option specifies the SCSI ID of the Pioneer CD-ROM drive. This number must match the SCSI ID setting on the back of the CD-ROM unit.
Number of CD-ROM Discs
----------------------
This indicates the number of CD-ROM discs to be installed. Each disc is assigned an individual drive letter. The default is 6.
Host Adapter Number
-------------------
The default is 0. This indicates the host adapter number connected to the CD-ROM drive. If multiple hosts adapters are installed in the computer, this may need to be changed. This allows the device driver to identify the correct host adapter connected to the CD-ROM drive.
Install Second CD-ROM Drive
---------------------------
The default option is NO. Only change this option if daisy chaining a second Pioneer CD-ROM drive.
SCSI ID of 2nd Drive
--------------------
Use this option to select the SCSI ID of the second CD-ROM drive. This must match the SCSI ID setting on the back of the CD-ROM drive.
Number of CD-ROM Discs in 2nd Drive
-----------------------------------
This indicates the number of CD-ROM discs to be installed in the second Pioneer CD-ROM drive. Each disc is assigned by MSCDEX its own drive letter.
