I. 1st time installation
1. Install Windows 95 System
2. Create a DOS prompt
3. chang directory to win95 system directory\inf
example: cd \windows\inf
4. EDIT "MSHDC.INF" file
5. find [BAD_IDE] section
6. add following statement in [BAD_IDE] sections
[BAD_IDE]
copyfiles=@esdi_506.pdr
7. save MSHDC.INF file and exit DOS prompt
8. Open "Control Panel"
9. Open "System" and Slect "Device Manager"
10. Select "Hard disk controllers"
11. double click on "Standard ESDI IDE Controller"
12. Click on "Driver"
13. Click on "Change driver"
14. Click on "Have disk"
15. Change source path to "A:\win95"
16. Click on "OK"
17. Click on "OK"
18. Click on "No" //restart pc yes/no?//
19. repeat step 10 to step 13 once more
20. select "Winbond VL-IDE Controller(WB759AF)"
21. Click on "OK"
22. Click on "OK"
23. Click on "CLOSE"
23. Click on "Yes" //restart pc yes/no?//
24. Shutdown the computer and reboot
====> After successful reboot
Check if the Hard Disk Controller under device manager contain correct information for
for WB759AF driver.
II. Driver update
1. Enter "Device Manager"
2. Select "Hard disk controllers"
3. double click on "Winbond VL-IDE Controller(WB759AF)"
4. Click on "driver"
5. Click on "Change driver"
6. Click on "Have disk"
7. Change source path to "A:\win95"
8. Click on "OK"
