  7.    Before proceeding, it is important that you have completed the
  8.    following steps:

  10.    Step 1:  Installed the scanner interface card in your computer.
  11.  
  12.    Step 2:  Connected the scanner to the interface card.
  13.  
  14.    Step 3:  Run the Install program of Twain Data Source.
  15.             by typing "win A:\install" or "win B:\install".

  24.    Here are some notices for the Flatbed Scanner Twain Data Source.

  26.    1. Special notices for OCR applications
  27.  
  28.    1.1 While installing OCR applications, please select Twain scanner as
  29.        default.
  30.  
  31.    1.2 To have a better performance when doing ocr application, please set
  32.        the scanning resolution to 300 dpi and scanmode at lineart mode.

  34.    1.3 To work Flatbed scanner with Omnipage OCR software, there are two
  35.        methods:

  37.      (a). For Win3.x users :
  38.        Please edit the following cammands into the Scanmgr.INI under the
  39.        Windows directory before scanning in Omnipage OCR.

  42.         SHOW_UI = 0
  43.         INVERT = 1
  44.         AUTO_BRI = 1
  45.         DISPLAY_PROGRESS = 1

  47.      (b). For Win95 users :
  48.        After the installation of OmniPage is done, please switch to Scanmgr
  49.        operation and select Twain scanner as default, then choose the exact
  50.        data source you desired.
