A. UPGRADE SUMMARY
This version of HP JetAdmin contains support for the latest printers and plotters
from HP (LaserJet 5SiMX, 1600CM, etc) This version supersedes previous versions.

B. CONFIGURATION ISSUES
HP JetAdmin for Windows 95 requires the Microsoft« IPX/SPX-compatible
protocol. If you are using HP JetAdmin (NetWare Support), you should be
running the Microsoft Client for NetWare Networks. The clients listed under
'Novell' currently are not compatible with HP JetAdmin software.

C. HOW TO OBTAIN THE UPGRADE
The HP JetAdmin for Windows 95 software (Three disks from three self-extracting zip files:
ja95_d1.exe,ja95_d2.exe,ja95_d3.exe) can be found
on the following sources:
* CompuServe: Go HPPER, JetDirect and Network library
* HP FTP Site: ftp-boi.external.com, /pub/networking/software
* HP BBS: (208) 344-1691 (14,400 n,8,1) Network Printer Software
Library (1J)
The software is also available from the HP Driver Distribution Center - call
(303) 339-7009 to order it.

D. HOW TO INSTALL THE UPGRADE
CREATING THE INSTALL DISKETTES
1. Copy JA95_D1.EXE to a temporary subdirectory called disk1.
2. Unpack the files by typing JA95_D1 at a DOS prompt.
3. Copy JA95_D2.EXE to a temporary subdirectory called disk2.
4. Unpack the files by typing JA95_D2 at a DOS prompt.
5. Copy JA95_D3.EXE to a temporary subdirectory called disk3.
6. Unpack the files by typing JA95_D3 at a DOS prompt.
7. Remove JA95_D1.EXE, JA95_D2.EXE, JA95_D3.EXE from each of the three subdirectories.
8. Copy the files from each directory to a separate floppy disk.
9. Verify floppy disk contents.
10. Remove temporary subdirectories.

Note: You Must Obtain the Windows 95 installation disk(s) to perform this upgrade.

Remove Previous Versions of HP JetAdmin:
If you have HP JetAdmin installed on your system, you must remove it
before you upgrade.
To check if HP JetAdmin is installed on your system, open the 'Network' icon
in the Control Panel. A list of installed network components is displayed.
If either 'HP JetAdmin' or 'HP JetAdmin (NetWare Support)' appears in this
list, remove it by highlighting the appropriate entry in the list and
selecting the 'Remove' button underneath the list. Selecting 'OK'
will confirm your choice. You must reboot your system at this time to
complete the removal process.
This upgrade is English only. If your current HP JetAdmin is not in
English, installing this upgrade will replace your existing localized
HP JetAdmin with an English version.

INSTALLING THE JETADMIN SOFTWARE
1. Open the 'Network' icon in the Control Panel.
2. Select the 'Add' button underneath the list of installed network
components.
3. Select 'Service' for network component type and select 'Add.'
4. On the 'Select Network Service' dialog, select the 'Have Disk...' button.
5. Once the 'Install From Disk' dialog is displayed, enter the path to the
"A" drive, insert disk1 and select 'OK.'
6. Choose either 'HP JetAdmin' for direct mode printing or 'HP JetAdmin
(NetWare Support)' for configuring printers to be used with Novell
NetWare servers and select OK.
7. Once you select 'OK' the upgrade process begins.
Most files will be obtained from the three diskettes. However, there are a few
files that must be copied from the Windows 95 disk(s). If the system cannot
find a file during the installation, enter the path for the Windows 95 disk(s).
Once all the files have been copied, you must reboot your system for the upgrade to be
completed.

E. SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT
______________________________________________________
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Read the license agreement below before installing the HP JetAdmin
Software for Windows 95 on your computer. The right to use this
software is sold only on the condition that the customer agrees to the
following License. If you do not agree to the terms of the License
Agreement, you may return the unopened package for a full refund.
However, installing the utilities on your computer indicates your
acceptance of these terms and conditions.

* In return for the payment of the one-time fee for the HP JetDirect
Print Server (Network Interface) the customer receives from
Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) a license to use this product subject to the
following terms and conditions.
* No copies of the HP JetAdmin Software for Windows 95 may be
produced for sale to third parties or for any purpose other than those
purposes expressly permitted in paragraph 1 above.
* This license and the HP JetAdmin Software for Windows 95 may be
transferred to a third party only with the prior written consent of
Hewlett-Packard, provided the third party agrees to all terms of the
license.
* Agreement and the customer does not retain any copies of the software.
* Purchase of this license does not transfer any right, title or interest
in the HP JetAdmin Software for Windows 95 to the customer except
as specifically set forth in this License Agreement.
* Hewlett-Packard reserves the right to terminate this license upon
breach. In the event of termination, the customer will either return all
copies of the product to Hewlett-Packard, or with Hewlett-Packard's prior
written consent, provide Hewlett-Packard a certificate of destruction
of all copies.
* In the event the customer modifies the HP JetAdmin Software for
Windows 95 or includes it with any other software program, the customer
agrees upon termination of the license to either remove the HP JetAdmin
Software for Windows 95 or any portion thereof from the modified
program and return it to Hewlett-Packard or provide Hewlett-Packard with
a certificate of destruction thereof.
