1.0 Introduction
The BBS Utility package provides the following functions:
- It contains an option for configuring the mach64 hardware
- It contains an option for testing the VGA, VESA and Accelerator
portion of the card
- It contains an option to install the ATI mach64 utilities
It is important to note that the BBS Utility package does not support
mach64 driver installation. For this reason we would recommend
retaining your existing mach64 diskettes for driver installation or
downloading the appropriate drivers from the ATI BBS, CompuServe forum
or FTP site.

2.0 Installation Notes
1. Ensure that you have a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE, v1.10 or later. PKUNZIP
is available on most BBS and information services, including the ATI
BBS and CompuServe.
4. Unzip 64UTL201.ZIP into a new directory on your hard disk. For
example:
MD \ATIBBS
PKUNZIP 64UTL201.ZIP \ATIBBS
CD \ATIBBS
INSTALL
5. Follow the screen prompts for installing the Utilities and
configuring the card.

3.0 mach64 2.01 BBS Install options
1) System Information
Detailed system information will be presented, together with any found
system conflicts.
Contents of AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS will be shown, and an option to
save to file or send to printer will be given.
It is recommended that this check is done first, prior to doing the
'Quick Setup'.
2) Quick Setup
Quick Setup will automatically initialize your card for the best
possible configuration.
You do, however, have the choice of selecting the monitor type, from
the list of available monitors. If the monitor you are currently using
is not in the monitor list, you may want to use the Custom Monitor
option for best possible screen size and position for each resolution
your monitor supports.
3) Adapter Utilities Installation.
This option allows you to install the Video Adapter Utilities onto the
hard drive. The ATI utilities includes a DOS DPMS Terminate and Stay
Resident (TSR) and a VESA TSR program for VESA compliant applications.
For more information on either of these TSR please consult the
appropriate README file.
Upon completion, you will be asked if you wish to set the path to the
directory containing the utilities.
4) Diagnostics
You can test the functionality of your graphics adapter using this
option. The following diagnostics are performed to thoroughly test the
VGA and/or the Accelerator portion of your graphics adapter.
* VGA Memory test
* VGA Text test
* VGA Standard graphics test
* Accelerator Diagnostics
5) Advanced Setup
This is designed for experienced users who wish to custom-tailor their
card configuration for best possible performance. Changes will be saved
in a non-volatile memory or a file, depending on the mach64
configuration, and the card will be re-initialized. Once saved,
settings will remain unchanged until altered.
