  3. WinCraps is a fully featured craps simulator designed to run in a
  4. Windows environment.  The program files are "zipped" (compressed)
  5. together into one self-extracting archive.

  7. To install WinCraps in Windows 3.x:
  8.  
  9. - Start your Windows Program Manager
  10. - From the FILE menu, select RUN
  11.  
  12. - If you have a WinCraps game disk,
  13.     - Place it in your A or B drive
  14.     - Enter A:WINCRAPS (or B:WINCRAPS)
  15.  
  16. - If you don't have a WinCraps game disk,
  17.     - Enter the path to the game files and WINCRAPS
  18.     - i.e. C:\DOWNLOAD\WINCRAPS

  20. To install WinCraps in Windows 95:
  21.  
  22. - Select Start from your taskbar
  23. - Select RUN
  24.  
  25. - If you have a WinCraps game disk,
  26.     - Place it in your A or B drive
  27.     - Enter A:WINCRAPS (or B:WINCRAPS)
  28.  
  29. - If you don't have a WinCraps game disk,
  30.     - Enter the path to the game files and WINCRAPS
  31.     - i.e. C:\DOWNLOAD\WINCRAPS

  34. The game files will first be extracted from the archive.  Then the 
  35. WinCraps setup routine will prompt you for the location in which
  36. you'd like to install the game (with a default of C:\WINCRAPS).
  37. A Program Manager Group and game file icons will also be created.
  38.  
  39. Caution:  Do not install the game into the same directory as the
  40. self-extracting installation file.
  41.  
  42. During the installation several system files are loaded which you
  43. may or may not already have.  If any of these files are present and
  44. write protected or in use, a warning message will appear so stating.
  45. This is just a notice - installation will continue after you
  46. acknowledge the message.
  47.  
  48. Note:  WinCraps requires the file VBRUN300.DLL to run.  This file
  49. is common to many programs written for Windows so it's possible
  50. that you may already have a copy (if so, you'd normally find it in
  51. your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory).  If you don't have it and you
  52. downloaded the shareware version of WinCraps from CompuServe,
  53. America Online, the Internet, etc., then you'll need to also
  54. download VBRUN300.DLL.  If you received WinCraps from another
  55. source, such as a distribution disk, then this file is already
  56. included with the game files.

  62. It can also usually be found in the game forum libraries of most
  63. on-line services such as CompuServe, America Online, etc.

  65. Activating your Registered version:

  67. To complete your registration, you'll need to enter your name and
  68. registration number into the program after installation.  To do
  69. this, start the program and press the letter "R" on your keyboard
  70. while the "About WinCraps" screen is present.  Two boxes (not the
  71. order form) will then appear where you can enter your information.
  72. Make sure you enter your name and number EXACTLY as they were
  73. provided to you - taking care to use the same upper and lower case
  74. letters, punctuation and spacing.  (Press the TAB key to move
  75. between the selections, and press the ENTER key when you're done.)

  85. WinCraps.  When you see a newer version listed on CompuServe,
  86. America Online, etc., just download it and repeat the installation
  87. process. If you'd like a new diskette however, you'll have to send
  88. a check for $2.50 (US) or $4.00 (foreign) to the address listed
  89. below to cover shipping and handling charges.

  93. Ordering the registered version of WinCraps is best accomplished
  94. by accessing the Order Form from within the game.  It can be found
  95. under the Help menu on the main game table.

  99. WinCraps is copyrighted by Cloud City Software.  You may share the
  100. Shareware version of WinCraps with anyone you like, as long as you
  101. do not modify the program in any way.  However, sharing or providing
  102. your registration number to anyone else is a violation of this
  103. copyright.  WinCraps' reasonable price should allow anyone to
  104. register their own copy!
