  4.                 CD-Runner 4.0 Lite System Requirements
  5.  
  6. (Requirements for CD-Runner 6.0 DeLuxe may be found below.  Feature
  7. differences between 4.0 and 6.0 are significant, and are noted at the 
  8. end of this document.)

  10. CD-Runner 4.0 Lite (16-bit) is compatible with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, 
  11. and may also be run under Windows 95.  We recommend the following as a 
  12. nominal environment for using CD-Runner 4.0:

  14. (Note: It is highly recommended that CD-Runner be installed on MMII-class
  15. [multimedia 2] PCs. This will render both the highest performance of
  16. CD-Runner, as well as current CD-ROM application discs.
  17.  
  18.    * 486-DX2-66 or better IBM PS/2 or IBM-compatible computer.
  19.    * DOS Version 5.0 or later.
  20.    * Windows Version 3.1 or later.
  21.    * Mouse.
  22.    * 8 MB RAM or greater for optimal multimedia performance.
  23.    * One hard disk drive, one MCI-compatible IDE or SCSI CD-ROM drive.
  24.    * Sound card. Sound-Blaster compatible is recommended.
  25.    * Approximately 3 MB available hard disk space.
  26.    * MCI CD player compatible driver (MSCDEX.COM) and CD driver
  27.      (MCICDA.DRV) for CD Audio.

  29.                   CD-Runner 6.0 DeLuxe Requirements
  30.  
  31. CD-Runner 6.0 DeLuxe (32-bit) is compatible with Windows 95.  We recommend 
  32. the following as a nominal environment for using CD-Runner 6.0:

  34. (Note: It is highly recommended that CD-Runner be installed on MMII-class
  35. [multimedia 2] PCs. This will render both the highest performance of
  36. CD-Runner, as well as current CD-ROM application discs.
  37.  
  38.    * Pentium class 60 MHz or better IBM-compatible computer. CD-Runner 
  39.      may also be run on 486 processors, provided that they are DX-2 and 
  40.      100 MHz or better.
  41.    * Windows Version 95 or later.
  42.    * Mouse.
  43.    * 8 MB RAM or greater. 16 MB or better is recommended for optimal 
  44.      multimedia performance.
  45.    * One hard disk drive, one MCI-compatible IDE or SCSI CD-ROM drive.
  46.    * Sound card. Sound-Blaster compatible is recommended.
  47.    * Approximately 5 MB available hard disk space.
  48.    * Windows 95 MCI CD player compatible driver and driver for CD Audio. 
  49.      These are automatically installed during Window 95 Setup, but may not
  50.      be resident if you have overinstalled Windows 95 as an upgrade to 
  51.      Windows 3.x.  This is rare, and if you are able to run audios via the
  52.      Microsoft CD Player, most unlikely.
  53.    * It is HIGHLY recommended that you NOT have mscdex.com loaded in your 
  54.      autoexec.bat, but rather let Windows 95 set up your CD-ROM drive(s).
  55.      (Mscdex.com is a DOS driver that can seriously slow down Windows 95 
  56.      CD-ROM performance.)
  57.    * Highly Recommended: Modem w/Internet hookup.
