  8. License Agreement

  10. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions
  11. before using this software.  Unless you have a different license
  12. agreement signed by Paul Leung your use of this
  13. software you indicates your acceptance of this license agreement
  14. and warranty.

  16. Registered Version

  18. One registered copy of MidiMaster may either be used by a single
  19. person who uses the software personally on one or more computers,
  20. or installed on a single workstation used nonsimultaneously by
  21. multiple people, but not both.
  22.  
  23. You may access the registered version of MidiMaster through a network,
  24. provided that you have obtained individual licenses for the
  25. software covering all workstations that will access the software
  26. through the network.  For instance, if 8 different workstations
  27. will access MidiMaster on the network, each workstation must have its
  28. own MidiMaster license, regardless of whether they use MidiMaster at
  29. different times or concurrently.

  33. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of
  34. Connecticut.

  36. Disclaimer of Warranty

  38. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND
  39. WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY
  40. OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  In particular,
  41. there is no warranty for the optional virus scanning feature
  42. (MidiMaster does not scan for viruses, it simply runs external
  43. programs that claim to perform this function).  Because of the
  44. various hardware and software environments into which MidiMaster may
  45. be put, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
  46. OFFERED.

  48. Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be
  49. thoroughly tested with non-critical data before relying on it.
  50. The user must assume the entire risk of using the program.  ANY
  51. LIABILITY OF THE SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT
  52. REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.

  56. Evaluation and Registration

  58. This is not free software.  You are hereby licensed to use this
  59. software for evaluation purposes without charge until the
  60. specified expire date.

  63. a registration fee (refer to ORDER.TXT) is required. 
  64. When payment is received in the means mentioned in ORDER.TXT, 
  65. you will be sent a registered copy of the latest version of MidiMaster.

  70. Provided that you verify that you are distributing the Shareware
  71. Version (select About from the MidiMaster Help menu to check) you are
  72. hereby licensed to make as many copies of the Shareware version of
  73. this software and documentation as you wish; give exact copies of
  74. the original Shareware version to anyone; and distribute the
  75. Shareware version of the software and documentation in its
  76. unmodified form via electronic means.  There is no charge for any
  77. of the above.

  79. You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting
  80. donations, for any such copies, however made; and from
  81. distributing the software and/or documentation with other products
  82. (commercial or otherwise) without prior written permission, with
  83. one exception:  Disk Vendors approved by the Association of

  85. subject to the conditions in this license, without specific
