  1. Welcome to MidiMaster 7.0!
  2. With MidiMaster, you can enjoy the world of music without
  3. making effort to organize and play your music collection.

  13. For NEW users

  16. I suppose you are a new user of this software.  Here is
  17. what you can do to customize MidiMaster as your favorite
  18. application:
  19.  
  20. 1. Configure MidiMaster as your default viewer of your favorite
  21.    media file types such as wav and mid files, by answering
  22.    the questions at the startup of the program.
  23.  
  24. 2. If you don't want MidiMaster to perform the above check again,
  25.    choose 'No' for the question "Do you want to check the file
  26.    association automatically next time".
  27.  
  28. 3. There should be a floating panel at the top of the screen.
  29.    Drag the panel (you should drag it from the right of the 
  30.    music symbol) to whereever you want.  You may click on
  31.    the music symbol to make the panel assign on the top.
  32.  
  33. 4. You can also see the main window, right?  Remember that
  34.    you can adjust the position and the size of the main window
  35.    at any time.  MidiMaster is smart enough to remember the
  36.    location and the size of the main window too!

  38. 5. From the main window, find the "Properties" button and
  39.    click on it.  A property dialog box will be popped up.
  40.    From "Files/Directories" tab, enter the directory information:

  42.     a) Starting directory
  43.        - specify the startup directory of MidiMaster
  44.     b) Library directory
  45.        - specify the location of the library files
  46.     c) Temporary directory 
  47.        - specify the temporary directory where the unzip
  48.          operation takes place.
  49.     d) Volume control program
  50.        - you should browse your custom volume control program
  51.          from here.

  53. 6. You can also customize MidiMaster from other tabs.

  60. For experienced users
  61. =====================

  63. 1. Unlike the previous version, MidiMaster 6.5 has a different
  64.    concept of Play List and library.  The following remarks
  65.    the difference between Play List and library:
  66.  
  67. >  Play List is a list of files which MidiMaster plays on.
  68.    Library is a list of files *and* directories (specified in
  69.    wildcards).  MidiMaster, however, cannot play on libraries
  70.    directly.  
  71.  
  72. >  Play List has a file extension ".mmp" while Library has
  73.    a file extension ".mml".
  74.  
  75. >  Library is a permanent storage for a list of files and
  76.    directories while Play List can be a temporary file.
  77.    But if you click on the "Lock" button on the main window
  78.    and make sure it is "down", the Play List can serve
  79.    as a permanent storage.

  81. >  You can have at most 14 Play Lists accessible from
  82.    the combo box above the Play List.  But you can have
  83.    unlimited number of libraries stored in the "library
  84.    directory" specified in the property dialog box.
