  1. LICENSE AGREEMENT

  3.     The Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities and the accompanying
  4.     documentation are SHAREWARE. You are hereby granted a licence by
  5.     ESaSS B.V. to distribute the evaluation copy of the software and its
  6.     documentation, subject to the following conditions:

  8.          1. The evaluation package of the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus
  9.          utilities may be distributed freely without charge in
  10.          evaluation form only.
  11.  
  12.          2. The evaluation package of the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus
  13.          utilities may not be sold or licensed. Neither may a fee be
  14.          charged for its use.  If a fee is charged in connection with
  15.          the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities at all, it should only
  16.          cover the cost of copying or distribution. UNDER NO
  17.          CIRCUMSTANCES should payment of such fees be understood to
  18.          constitute legal ownership.

  20.          3. The evaluation package of the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus
  21.          utilities must be presented in its complete form. It is not
  22.          allowed to distribute the program and its documentation files
  23.          separately.

  25.          4. Neither the software nor its documentation may be amended or
  26.          altered in any way.
  27.  
  28.          5. By granting you the right to distribute the evaluation copy
  29.          of the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities, you do not become the
  30.          owner of these utilities in any form.

  32.          6. ESaSS B.V. accepts no responsibility in case the program
  33.          malfunctions or does not function at all.
  34.  
  35.          7. ESaSS B.V. can never be held responsible for damage,
  36.          directly or indirectly resulting from the use of the
  37.          Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities.

  39.          8. Using the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities means that you
  40.          agree to these conditions.

  42.     Any other use, distribution or representation of the Thunderbyte
  43.     Anti-Virus utilities is expressly forbidden without the written
  44.     permission of ESaSS B.V.

  47. REGISTRATION
  48.  
  49.     THIS IS NOT FREE SOFTWARE! If you paid a 'public domain' vendor for
  50.     this program, you paid for the service of copying the program, and
  51.     not for the program itself. Proceeds from such transactions would
  52.     never reach the makers of this product. You may evaluate this
  53.     product, but if you decide to make use of it, you should register
  54.     your copy.
  55.  
  56.     To register: run the REGISTER program, and return the resulting form
  57.     to a Thunderbyte shareware registration site.
  58.  
  59.     We offer several inducements to you for registering. First of all,
  60.     you are entitled to support for the Thunderbyte Antivirus utilities,
  61.     which can be quite valuable at times.
  62.  
  63.  
  64.     Some very enhanced features (like the TbScan option 'extract') are
  65.     only available to registered users. Once you have become a
  66.     registered user, these advanced options will be made available to
  67.     you. Your regisrations allow us to enhance our products and to keep
  68.     them up to date!

  71. THE REGISTRATION KEY
  72.  
  73.     Registered users receive the information and instructions to
  74.     generate their TBAV.KEY. The key file will contain important
  75.     information such as the licence number and the name of the licensee.
  76.     The key file TBAV.KEY is NOT to be sold or transfered in any way.
  77.     The Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities do search for the key file in
  78.     the current directory. If they do not find it there, they search the
  79.     same directory where the program file itself resides.

  81.     If the key file is corrupt or invalid, the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus
  82.     utilities continue without error message although your version of
  83.     the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities will then be treated as an
  84.     unregistered SHAREWARE version. If your key is only valid for some
  85.     of the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus utilities, the other utilities will
  86.     ignore it when run.

  88.     Although you are allowed to evaluate the Thunderbyte Anti-Virus
  89.     utilities for a reasonable period of time, it is ILLEGAL to use them
  90.     in combination with a key, produced without authorization of ESaSS
  91.     B.V., or generated by any software not distributed by ESaSS B.V..

  94. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY AND LIMITED WARRANTY
  95.  
  96.     ESaSS BV warrants that (a) the software will perform substantially
  97.     in accordance with the accompanying written materials and (b) the
  98.     software is properly recorded on the disk media. This warranty
  99.     extends for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase. There is no
  100.     warranty after expiration of the warranty period.
  101.  
  102.     Neither ESaSS BV nor anyone else who has been involved in the
  103.     creation, production or delivery of the ThunderBYTE Anti-Virus
  104.     utilities or the documentation grants any other warranties with
  105.     respect to the contents of the software,  the written materials and
  106.     each specifically disclaims any implied warranties of
  107.     merchantability or fitness for any purpose.

  109.     Except as stated herein, in no event shall ESaSS BV or its suppliers
  110.     be liable for any damages whatsoever, whether direct, indirect,
  111.     consequential, or incidental damages (including damages for loss of
  112.     business profits, business interruption, loss of business
  113.     information, or other pecuniary loss), arising out of the use of or
  114.     inability to use such product even if ESaSS BV has been advised of
  115.     the possibility of such damages. Because some states do not allow
  116.     the exclusion of limitation of liability for consequential or
  117.     incidental damages, the above limitation may not apply to you.

  120.     ESaSS BV reserves the right to revise the software and the written
  121.     materials and to make changes from time to time in the contents
  122.     without obligation to notify any person.

  127.     The ThunderBYTE Anti-Virus utilities are registered trademarks of
  128.     ESaSS BV. All other product names mentioned are acknowledged to be
  129.     the marks of their producing companies.

  134.     All ThunderBYTE Anti-Virus utilities are copyright 1989-1996
  135.     ThunderBYTE BV. All rights reserved. The diskettes provided with the
  136.     ThunderBYTE Anti-Virus utilities are not copy protected. The
  137.     ThunderBYTE Anti-Virus utilities are protected by copyright law,
  138.     which applies to the computer software as well, except for that you
  139.     may make copies of the software solely for backup or archive
  140.     purposes and transfer the software to harddisk provided that the
  141.     software is used as specified herein.
