  1.                       LifeSaver Readme File v2.30

  3. LifeSaver is a Windows 95 configuration file backup and restore utility.  It
  4. can be used to recover from problems due to corrupt configuration files or 
  5. changes to configuration files which can not be undone.  LifeSaver has many
  6. useful features which are highlighted below.

  8. Standard features:
  9.    - Backup and Restore up to seven different configuration files
  10.    - Run from the command line with scheduling programs (i.e. System Agent)
  11.    - Add to System Agent, StartUp folder, or desktop during install
  12.    - Smart install changes default options based on system configuration
  13.    - Save up to 2 backups
  14.    - Restore system files from the command prompt (DOS) mode 
  15.      with self-generating batch file
  16.    - Safely restore the registry files from Windows
  17.    - Quick restore with right mouse button on backup list
  18.    - Restore to an alternate directory
  19.    - Restore individual files
  20.    - Right mouse button support (including "What's This?" help)
  21.    - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) in on-line help
  22.  
  23. Additional features:    (for 30 day trial period and registered version only)
  24.    - Backup and Restore up to 10 user defined files (with Drag and Drop support)
  25.    - Includes LHA compression 
  26.      (after 30 day trail period unregistered version requires PkZip and PkUnzip)
  27.    - Save up to 10 backups 
  28.      (reduced to 2 after 30 day trail period unless registered)
  29.    - Site licenses include (registered version only):
  30.         - Silent install option (no user prompts required)
  31.         - Configure default options for install 
  32.           (i.e. add to System Agent, add to StartUp folder, 
  33.                 add to StartUp folder if System Agent is not running, etc.)

  35. NOTE: After the 30 day trail period, the additional features will be disabled 
  36. unless the program is registered (see details below). Only the backup portion 
  37. of the features above will be disabled, the restore options will remain enabled.
  38. LifeSaver will continue to restore any files which were previously backed up.
