  124. ===== Installation =====================================

  126. The installation procedure for ORBOTS for Windows is quite simple.  The
  127. package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the entire
  128. process. You will need about 2 meg of available disk space on the hard
  129. drive on which you plan to install ORBOTS for Windows.

  131. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  132. ORBOTS for Windows.
  133.

  135. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  136.  
  137. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  138.  
  139.    o  Place ORBOTS for Windows distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  140.       appropriate diskette drive.
  141.  
  142.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette
  143.       from Windows.  For example, if the distribution diskette is on
  144.       drive A:, choose RUN from the File menu or START button, and
  145.       enter the command, "a:\install".
  146.  
  147.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  148.       The program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  149.       the game files to that directory. It will make no other changes;
  150.       specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys
  151.       files.

  154. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  156. If you downloaded ORBOTS for Windows from a BBS (or received it in the
  157. form of archive files from some other source), you will need to perform
  158. the following steps.

  160.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  161.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  162.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  163.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  164.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  165.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  166.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  167.       the package.

  169.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  170.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  171.       the game package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the Windows RUN
