Las Vegas Slots - PRO -- User Manual --
==============================================

PREFACE:
========
Las Vegas Slots PRO has a built in help file. This file should be
referred to for information regarding the normal operations of
the program. This user manual is designed to discuss only
information pertaining towards RESTRICTIVE mode operations.
NORMAL VS RESTRICTIVE MODES
===========================
For those of you have have used Las Vegas Slots standard edition,
you should be familar with it's operations. 100% of the standard
edition operations would be classified as being in "NORMAL" mode.
The normal mode means that anyone has full access without any
limitations placed upon them. For instance users may start over
and reset the bank to $0, they can reset the jackpot to $4000 its
minimum, they can save their current game or recall a previously
saved game, they can even accumulate a negative sum in the bank.
Basically, the normal mode means they can just about anything
they want.
The restrictive mode is designed to imitate more real-life. It
allows an administrator to impose limitations on Players. Players
can never accumulate a negative bank sum. If the bank is $0 then
the player will not be able to spin unless they purchase funds
using their personal identification number (PIN) that the
administrator supplies to them. The administrator sets-up
personal accounts and places credit limits for each player.
Players can cash-in their bank at anytime by printing their
winnings out or by applying their winnings towards their dept. In
restrictive mode the player cannot exit the application, reset the
jackpot, save or recall a game. The administrator has a password
which allows him/her access to the restrictive features. All
transactions are recorded and loaded upon re-entering the
application. Therefore, a full history is maintained.
*********************** ADMINISTRATIVE FEATURES *************************
THE ADMINISTRATOR
=================
The administrator is the person(s) in control of the program or
the "house." They are the people who can set-up accounts, modify
or delete accounts. They impose the credit limits on users. The
administrative features are available from the OPTIONS menu under
the name ADMINISTRATION.
PASSWORDS
=========
When you select ADMINISTRATION from the options menu you will be asked
to supply the password which will provide you to the administrative
features. This password is one which you can create once you gain
access. Initially the password is set-up using "pass" (Note:
lower-case letters only). Once you initially gain access you should
create a new password. All passwords you create are case sensitive
toyour initial creation. For instance if you create a password
"dog" then later attempt to type "Dog", it will not accept it
because one is a lowercase "d" while the other is an uppercase "D".
SETTING RESTRICTIVE PLAY MODE
=============================
When in the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION window click on the SET
RESTRICTIVE PLAY MODE check-box until a check mark
appears. Once you click on the ACCEPT button, the program
will revert to restrictive play mode. Without the check
mark the program will be in normal mode.
SETTING UP A NEW ACCOUNT (ADDING)
=================================
Players can not play in restrictive mode unless they have an
account and they have not reached their dept limit.
In order to set-up a new account click on a grid cell in the
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION window that is not already being used.
Once the cell is highlighted then click the ADD button. The
ADD NEW USER window should appear. This window allows you to
create a new account. Enter the new user's name and how much
they will be limited to in credit. The ACCESS CODE in yellow
shows a computer generated random seven character code which
is the new user's personal identification number. Anytime the
user attempts to buy funds to play they must use their access
code. You can never manually create an access code. Once all
the entries have been made, select the OK button. The grid will
update with your new user's information you have created. You
should write down on paper the player's name and access code to
provide them. Until you click on the ACCEPT button your
information will not be stored. Their is a maximum of 100 user
accounts that can be active at any one time.
DELETING AN ACCOUNT
===================
Click on the row of the account on which you want deleted in
the grid. Once the row is highlighted, select the DELETE button.
A message box will appear asking if you are sure you want to
delete the selected account. The message box will display the
POSITION number that the account resides in. This position number
should be the same row number as your account. Selecting the YES
button will delete the account. Selecting the NO button will exit
the delete option and the account will remain undeleted.
MODIFYING AN ACCOUNT
====================
To modify an existing account simple click on the grid cell of
the row on which the account resides. Then click on the MODIFY
button. A new window will appear with the account information in
it. You can modify any of the information except the ACCESS CODE
display. The access code is permanetly linked to the account until
the account is deleted. If you desire a new access code then you
must delete the account and add a new one. The name and credit
limit options are the same as discussed in SETTING UP A NEW ACCOUNT.
The PAYMENT option is where you would enter any payments received
by the player to apply toward their dept. For instance if their
dept is $100 as indicated in the DEPT column in the grid and they
make a $25 payment to you, then you would enter 25 in the PAYMENT
window. Once the OK button was selected the DEPT will now show $75
instead of the original $100 since you received a $25 payment. If
you want to add to a person's dept you should use a negative number.
For instance given the same circumstance as discussed previously, if
you wanted to increase a persons dept by $25, then you would place
a -25 in the payment option. In this case the dept wold then be $125
instead of $100. To understand this concept better think of the
positive or negative number as referring to the player viewpoint. A
positive number decreases their dept, while a negative number
increases their dept. leaving the payment option blank or a zero will
not affect the dept. The CANCEL button will close the MOFIFY option
without any new changes taking effect.
PRINTING THE ACCOUNT DATABASE
=============================
To print the account database from the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION
window simply select the PRINT button. This option will display
a dialog box which asks you to press the OK button when the
printer is ready to print. You may also select the CANCEL button
which will close the print option and disregard printing. When
you print the account database, only accounts which are in-use
will print. All five columns will print including date and time
of print.
*********************** PLAYER FEATURES *************************
BUYING
======
While in restrictive play mode player's must buy before they are
allowed to spin. Player's must also have an active account set-up
on which they can purchase from. The amount the player buys is
automatically counted toward their dept. Players can not buy a
total amount greater than their credit limit that was set-up by
the administrator.
The lower-left hand side of the slot machine display two buttons
while in restrictive play mode, BUY and CASH-IN. To purchase credits
the player should select the BUY option. A window will appear asking
the player to type-in their personal access code and the amount in which
they desire to purchase. If they type in the correct access code and
amount the system will update the bank to its previous value plus the
amount purchased. The display window on the slot machine will show
the amount purchased by the player. If the player typed-in an amount
that would exceed their credit limit then the system will inform them
of such and ask them to lower the amount requested. As the player
continues to purchase credits, their dept will continue to build up.
Eventually they will match their credit limit and will be unable to
purchase additional credits. To have their dept lowered the administrator
can MODIFY their account to indicate they have received a PAYMENT. The
payment entered will lower the player's dept by the amount entered by
the administrator.
CASHING-IN
==========
Players can cash-in their bank at anytime as long as the sum is greater
than 0$. Once a player cashes-in the bank will reset to $0.
When cashing-in the player will be shown the CASH-IN window which
displays the player's current status such as name, bank total,
dept, and credit limit. The player has two options available on
how they would like to cash-in.
PRINT WINNINGS
This option will print the players winnings once their dept is
subtracted. For instance if the player's dept is $100 and
the bank (winnings) is $150 then their dept will be reset to $0
and $50 will be listed under FUNDS on the print-out. In many cases
the FUNDS could print out as $0 whenever the dept exceeds the
bank. It would be the same effect as APPLYING TOWARD DEPT.
APPLY TOWARD DEPT
This option of cashing-in will not print-out the player's winnings
but apply them all towards the player's dept. Even in cases where
the player has a lower dept than their winnings (bank) they still
can be applied. For instance if the player has a dept of $100 and
their bank is $150 and they choose to APPLY TOWARD DEPT then their
dept will register as -$50. From the player's perspective this means
they are ahead by $50. They have also increased their limit by this
sum. For instance if they had a limit of $1000 then in this case they
could purchase up to $1050.
VIEW PLAYER INFO
================
The VIEW PLAYER INFO feature is available from the OPTIONS
menu. This feature is only available to players while they
are in restrictive operations. This window is designed to
give the user information about the current account status.
It will dislay the player's name, bank total, dept and credit
limit. This function will only display when a bank sum exists
greater than $0. The reason is when one player cashes-in or
loses what they bought so the bank is $0 they will have a
tendency to walk away. The next player could come by and select
VIEW PLAYER INFO and see the previous player's account
information. So, whenever the bank is zero no one can see their
account information from the VIEW PLAYER INFO option. Of course
the administrator can always view any player's account
information with their password access.
