Popup Volume / Track Control
If you have enabled the popup volume & track control (Setup-Advanced section),
you will see a small popup control panel displayed on top of all screens when
the Audio CD and Media Runners are minimized while playing a track.
This control allows you to see the current track number and time (displayed in
the format selected in the CD-Runner faceplate), and allows you to perform any
of the track operations available when CD-Runner is not minimized. You may also
click on the mute button to mute or un-mute the volume, or click on the volume
button to display or hide the volume control sliders (which allows you to easily
change volume or balance levels) and the CD-Runner display windows. You may
move the popup control in the same manner in which you move any of the CD-Runner
faceplates - simply click and hold the left mouse button and drag it to any
desired position. If you try to move the control too far off of the screen, it
will automatically be positionned as close to the edge as possible to prevent
it from being "cutoff". If you wish to elimate the popup volume control
and remain playing a CD, simply click the right mouse button on it.
When the popup control is open (volume sliders and display windows visible),
you may click on the hotspots provided to perform additional operations without
returning to the faceplate. For example, to change the time format, simply
click on it (just as you could on the faceplate time hotspot) and you will
toggle through the available time formats. Hotspots throughout CD-Runner are
always designated by a "hand" mousepointer (e.g. if you see the mousepointer
change from an arrow to a hand, then you can click on the graphic or text to
perform a function).
You may also minimize the popup control to the Windows "SysTray" by clicking
on the minimize icon in the upper right corner of the popup. This will eliminate
the popup display only; if a track is currently playing it will continue to play.
Once minimized, a small popup icon will appear on the taskbar close to the time
display. You may left click on this icon to toggle through three options: to
mute the sound, to un-mute (restore) the sound, and to re-display the popup
control. You may also right click on this icon to display a menu of additional
options.
Running Audio CDs in the Background
You may play Audio CDs in the background as you are using other Windows
applications if desired. This assumes that your system has adequate memory and
Windows resources to run CD-Runner and the desired application(s).
To run an Audio CD in the background, simply run CD-Runner and play the desired
Audio CD. Click on the Audio CD Player minimize icon (lower left corner of
player) to minimize both the Audio CD faceplate and any CD Jacket or wallpaper
screens. A CD-Runner "Track Description" indicator will appear in the Windows
taskbar; this will be updated to display the current track description. You may
now run additional applications while allowing CD-Runner to continue playing
music.
Note that some communications applications which use the Windows timers may
conflict with CD-Runner since it uses these timers as well. Care should be
exercised when attempting to run Audio CDs in the background while using a
communications application for this reason.
