  3. What is TouchPro?
  4. -----------------
  5. TouchPro is a Windows 95 extension that allows you to modify
  6. or "touch", any, or all of a file's time & date values.
  7. TouchPro integrates seamlessly with Windows 95 and appears
  8. as an extra dialog box in addition to a file's normal
  9. property pages. You can modify multiple file's time & date
  10. values by using a multiple selection.

  12. Installation
  13. ------------
  14. TouchPro is supplied as a compressed file archive. Copy the
  15. compressed file to an empty floppy disk or new sub-directory
  16. on your hard disk & extract the files. When you have
  17. uncompressed the supplied file, you should have the
  18. following files in addition to the original:

  20. TouchPro.dll    The TouchPro Shell Extension DLL

  22. TouchPro.doc    WordPad version of this document
  23.  
  24. TouchPro.txt    This document
  25.  
  26. TouchPro.inf    The Setup Information File
  27.  
  28. Select the TouchPro.inf Setup Information File in an
  29. Explorer window and choose File, Install, or right click on
  30. the file and choose the Install menu.
  31.  
  32. Installation is quick, merely involving copying of the files
  33. to the target location on your machine and modification of
  34. the relevant registry information. TouchPro is now ready to
  35. use.
  36.  
  37. How Do You Use It?
  38. ------------------
  39. Select the files that you want to alter the timestamp on in
  40. an Explorer window.

  42. Display the properties by using the File, Properties menu,
  43. or right click and choose the Properties menu item.

  45. With TouchPro installed you will see an extra "Touch!" page
  46. in the properties dialog.
  47.  
  48. Click on the "Touch" tab to use TouchPro.
  49.  
  50. TouchPro enters the current date & time as a default, and
  51. allows you to alter them to whatever you want.

  53. To set the file timestamps just select the file time types
  54. that you want to change by clicking the appropriate check
  55. boxes, and use the "Touch Now" button.

  58. ----
  59. The OK, and Apply buttons on the main Property Page dialog
  60. do not perform the touch operation.
  61.  
  62. The file's Last Accessed time will change to the current
  63. date & time when you touch any of the time & date values.
  64.  
  65. Limitations
  66. -----------
  67. Time format is currently 24hr format only.
  68.  
  69. The shareware version has a limit to the number of files
  70. that it can "Touch" in a single selection. The release
  71. version has no such restriction. The release version also
  72. removes the nag banner that you get when you initially use
  73. the Touch property page.

  75. Removal
  76. -------
  77. Use the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs item. Select the
  78. TouchPro item (listed as "Touch Property Page Extension")
  79. and click the Add/Remove button.
