  8. --------
  9. A simple utility that allows you to paste a Memo list onto the Windows
  10. Desktop in the form of a note. The Memo replaces any Windows Wallpaper
  11. that is displayed, but at the touch of a button, the original Wallpaper
  12. can be recalled.
  13.  
  14. Desktop Memo has been developed and tested using Windows 95. It has
  15. also been tested on Windows 3.11.
  16.  
  17. Version 2
  18. ---------
  19. With this version, you can mark each item with a check-mark. You may
  20. use this feature to mark as 'done' a list item.
  21.  
  22. The Desktop Memo is now fully configurable. You can enter you own memo
  23. title, change the font of the title and check-mark as well as control
  24. the window positioning of the Memo form.
  25.  
  26. Installation and Requirements
  27. -----------------------------
  28. If you can read this you either have unzipped the files or are viewing
  29. the Readme.txt from a zip extraction utility. If the latter, unzip all
  30. files into the directory of your choice. The program is not dependant
  31. on any specific directory although it must not be unzipped to the root
  32. directory of any drive.

  34. Vbrun300.dll is required for the operation of the program. If you don't
  35. have a copy, you can find one in the MS Basic forum on CompuServe
  36. (GO MSBASIC). The Vbrun300.dll file normally lives in the System
  37. sub directory of Windows.

  39. Installation and version 2
  40. --------------------------
  41. Install the version 2 of the program into the same directory as the
  42. version 1 (deskmemo.exe). The filename of version 2 (dskmemo2.exe) is
  43. different so you will keep the version 1 intact. Don't forget to
  44. update any shortcuts or program icons to reflect the new name.

  46. This program is Shareware
  47. -------------------------
  48. This is not free software. You are hereby licensed to use this software
  49. for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 30 days. If you
  50. use this software after the 30 day evaluation period, a registration fee
  51. is required ($10) cheap!

  53. Unregistered use of the Desktop Memo utility after the 30 day evaluation
  54. period is in violation of U.S. and international copyright laws.

  56. Registration
  57. ------------
  58. This program may be registered through CompuServe by using SWREG
  59. (GO SWREG). Use the ID: 6959 to register Desktop Memo. Follow the
  60. instructions on screen thereafter.

  62. To register the program without using CompuServe, email the author at
  63. one of the addresses below and request Desktop Memo registration.
  64.  
  65. Upon registration, you will be sent a 'key' by email that you insert into
  66. the space provided on the splash form. This key will disable the red
  67. 'Unregistered version' labels of the Memo. You will also be entitled to
  68. support and cheaper upgrades.

  70. Upon registration, you will be the owner of a single-user, single-
  71. workstation license.

  73. Registration and version 2
  74. --------------------------
  75. If you have already registered the Desktop Memo (version 1) then there
  76. is no need to re-register. You get this update free! Your access code
  77. will work with the new version.
