  10.                      Reading the WinOnLine Review
  11.  
  12.     The WinOnLine REVIEW is distributed in the Windows HELP (.HLP)
  13. file format and requires Windows 3.1. You may use the convenient 
  14. installation program or view it manually.
  15.     
  16.                     *** Automatic Installation ***
  17.  
  18.     Click on the INSTALL.EXE from within File Manager, or choose
  19. FILE/RUN and type the path and INSTALL.EXE. The program will allow
  20. you to choose the default or your own drive and directory, and will
  21. advise you of the disk space required. A program group and icon are
  22. created for the WinOnLine Review Help file and this README.TXT file
  23. for your convenience.
  24.     A very few third party Program Manager replacements have minor
  25. problems with this install routine and may not insert the working
  26. directory in the launch properties dialog. If you have problems
  27. launching the magazine from the installed icon, please check and
  28. update that field if necessary. If you have difficulties with the
  29. installation program or viewing the magazine, please contact the
  30. Editor, Bob Gollihur through a Sysop comment at Windows OnLine 
  31. (510-736-8343), Internet bob.gollihur@wol.com, or CIS 71334,2065

  35.                          *** Manual Viewing ***
  36.  
  37. To view the HELP file directly, without installing it, simply
  38. unzip the contents of the ZIP file into its own directory and double
  39. click on the file name xxxxxx.HLP. The WOL.DLL, which is within
  40. the .ZIP file, must be in the same subdirectory as the .HLP file.
  41. Additional files will be created to accompany the .HLP file whenever
  42. the xxxxxx.HLP is run.
  43.  
  44.     If it does not automatically load into the WinHelp program then
  45. you will need to associate the extension (.HLP) to that program.
  46. You do that by locating the [extensions] section of your WIN.INI
  47. file and add the following line to it:

  49.                           HLP=WINHELP.EXE ^.HLP
  50.  
  51.     After you add the above line, exit and restart Windows.
  52.  
  53.     Once you make that association you should not have to do it again.
  54. You can now read all .HLP (HELP) files by simply clicking on them with
  55. your mouse.
  56.  
  57.     Another way to view our HELP file is to simple "RUN" the program
  58. WINHELP.EXE and load our file into it.
  59.  
  60.     First time readers and those new to the Windows Help system will
  61. find a readers' guide in the Table of Contents. Simply click on the
  62. magazine's Contents button at the top of the page to reach it.

  64.               *** De-installing the WinOnLine Review ***
  65.  
  66.     If you have used the automatic installation program, erase
  67. your destination directory. WOL.DLL may be removed from your
  68. WINDOWS directory unless you have other WinOnLine publications
  69. you wish to continue to view. Finally, delete the program group that 
  70. was created.
