  1. ChemLab 1.1d requires Windows 95, Windows NT  or Win3.x with Win32s (v1.3) to run.
  2.  
  3. For Win3.x install Win32s (v1.3 or higher) prior to running ChemLab.
  4.  
  5. Copy the file chem11d.zip into an empty directory on your hard disk.
  6.  
  7. Unzip chem11d.zip in that directory.
  8.  
  9.  
  10. Windows NT or Windows 95 Installation (use Install Shield setup program):

  12. Then run setup.exe, which will install ChemLab and create a Program group called ChemLab. 
  13. To run Chemlab go to the Start Menu, select the ChemLab program group and ChemLab application menu.
  14. (note Install Shield setup program requires Windows NT or Win 95):

  17. Using ChemLab:
  18.  
  19. 1. When ChemLab starts pick a simulation module to load from the simulation dialogbox. 
  20. 2. Read the lab introduction in the introduction text window. 
  21. 3. After reading the lab introduction read the procedure. 
  22. 4. Select the procedure tab above the text window. 
  23. 5. Then perform the lab following the steps in the procedure.

  25. While performing the procedure you can record your observations in the observation text window.

  28. Some useful Tips:
  29.  
  30. 1. The Right mouse button brings up a popup context menu when clicked on the lab window.
  31.  
  32. 2. Ctrl + left or right arrow key changes the selection of lab equipment. 
  33.    The Lab window must have the keyboard focus; click the right mouse key on the lab window.

  39. The full version of ChemLab 1.2 allows the creation of users customized lab simulations
  40. using an easy to use lab wizard tool.
