- Frequently Asked Questions
-
- Q. The game does not run very well.
- A. 1. You may not have a fast enough video card. Some video cards are faster than others due
- to the hardware design of the video card. Newer video cards generally have better support
- for DirectX games. Examples of video cards/chip sets that give good performance include:
-
- - Diamond Stealth Video VRAM 2meg
- - Tseng Labs Et6000 4meg
- - Trio 64V+ 2meg
-
- 2. You may not have the latest driver for your video card. The latest driver for your video card can be obtained
- from your video card manufacturer's web site. Refer to your video card documentation for contact details.
- 3. You may not have a fast enough CDROM drive. Minimum requirement is a 4 speed CDROM drive
- (600 kilobytes/second).
- 4. You may not have enough system RAM. Minimum ram requirement is 16 megabytes. 32 megabytes of ram is
- recommended.
- 5. You may have other programs loaded in memory while Moon Buggy 98 is running. If performance is a problem,
- exit all programs before running Moon Buggy 98.
- 6. You have an older version of DirectX installed on your machine. DirectX 5 is recommended, and can be installed from the
- Moon Buggy 98 main menu.
-
- Q. After I installed DirectX 5, I get graphics problems on the screen in Windows 95!
- A. Try installing DirectX 3. If this does not help the problem, you should contact your graphics card manufacturer
- to see if they have a more recent version of their DirectX graphics driver.
-
- Q. There is no music in Moon Buggy 98.
- A. Moon Buggy 98 contains CDAUDIO tracks for music that are played during the game. In order to hear the music,
- an audio cable must be connected between your CDROM and your sound card, inside your computer's case.
-
- Q. There are no game sound effects.
- A. 1. You may not have a sound card!
- 2. Your sound card may not be connected to your speakers/hifi.
- 3. You may have the sound card volume turned down. To change the volume of the sound card under Windows 95, go into
- the control panel and access the multimedia applet. Sound playback volume can be set in the audio section.
- 4. You may have your sound card's manual volume turned down. On some older sound cards, the volume control is a
- knob on the back of the sound card. Turning the knob will change the sound volume level.
- 5. You may have sound muted. In Windows 95, there is a sound control applet in the tray bar (bottom right of the screen).
- It looks like a speaker. Clicking on this will allow you to change the volume and the mute control.
-
- Q. Moon Buggy 98 does not automatically start when the CDROM is inserted into the CDROM drive.
- A. This will most likely be because auto insert notification is switched off. Auto insert notification can be
