  5.     This file contains some questions which are asked frequently.  Please
  6. peruse this file- you may find a simple answer to what seems to be a perplexing
  7. question.

  9. 1) Why can't I close a single note by itself?  It seems that all I can do is
  10. close all of them at once (with Close stickies).

  12.     You can close one at a time, through the note's context menu.  Right-
  13. click the note and a menu will appear.  Select "Close" from this menu.

  15. 2) Why can't I change the characteristics of a note after I've created it?
  16.  
  17.     You can, again through the note's context menu.  Right-click the note
  18. and a menu will appear.  From this menu you can change the font, font color
  19. and note color.  You can hide the sticky, and toggle Always on Top behavior.

  21. 3) The installation procedure fails when copying files.  What is wrong?
  22.  
  23.     You are probably running StickyNote when you run Setup, and trying
  24. to overwrite the running version.  Windows doesn't allow you to write to files
  25. that are active.  You need to close any running copies of StickyNote before
  26. you run Setup.  This is specified in the first window of the Setup procedure.

  28. 4) Why do the notes appear differently from the custom colors I select?
  29.  
  30.     StickyNote must display your notes in a solid color.  This is
  31. a constraint of Windows and the way the program is arranged.  Thus, the
  32. color of your notes will be the closest solid color to the custom color
  33. you select.  This should only affect you if you are using 256 colors or
  34. less; try using more.

  36. 5) The program freezes intermittently or grabs the modem
  37.  
  38.     StickyNote uses a simple socket mechanism to communicate with
  39. the Internet and whatever LAN your computer is connected to.  On some
  40. computers, even without the Internet or a network, the StickyNote
  41. messaging system may cause problems.  To fix this, check the
  42. "Force network interface off" button in the "Network" pane of the
  43. Options dialog.  This will turn off all networking procedures and
  44. alleviate the consequent problems.  Do not select this feature if you
  45. are not experiencing problems.

  47. 6) StickyNote is running and the network is on, but people can't send
  48.    me notes.

  50.     If StickyNote is running when you first log on to your network,
  51. it may take up to a minute for StickyNote to autodetect your network
  52. and set up its server software.  It will not take more than a minute,
  53. however; a minute after you've logged onto the Internet people can
  54. start sending you notes.  To check to see if StickyNote has initialized
  55. its network sensors, check the Information dialog box accessible from
  56. the main menu.
