  1. WinPlace For Windows 95/NT

  5. WinPlace is a freeware application which
  6. allows you to create and place objects
  7. into an area and view the results in
  8. 3D (VRML 2.0).  The objects can be almost
  9. anything (office furniture, electronic
  10. components, city buildings, etc.), and
  11. can be manually created or selected from
  12. user-created libraries.
  13.  
  14. WinPlace can also import and export
  15. design information using several formats,
  16. including DXF (CAD standard), Excel
  17. spreadsheets, BMP/WMF (Windows compatible
  18. images) and STL (rapid prototyping).
  19.  
  20. For the special case of electronic assemblies
  21. designedwith WinPlace, conduction thermal
  22. analysis and routing analysis capabilities
  23. are also provided.

  36. Installation Information
  37. ------------------------
  38. WinPlace installation files are provided as a self-extracting .EXE file.
  39.  
  40. For compatibility with software archives which still list WinPlace as
  41. a .ZIP file, the .EXE file is also available wrapped into a .ZIP file.
  42. This README.TXT file is included (uncompressed) in the .ZIP file.
  43.  
  44. The following OCX/DLL files are contained in the WinPlace self-extracting
  45. installation file. The columns show the file versions used to check the
  46. target PC, based on the operating system in use by the target PC.
  47.  
  48. These files are installed only if the target PC is older and is a later
  49. versions.  A copy of all replaced files may be placed in a backup
  50. directory as part of the installation process.
  51.  
  52. The content of the installation file can be listed, and individual
  53. files selected for extraction (not installation) by entering
  54. "winplace /X".
