  5. System Requirements
  6. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. To install Professor Franklin's Instant Photo Effects, you will
  8. need the following:
  9.  
  10. 486/66 or higher
  11. Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0
  12. 16 MB of RAM
  13. CD-ROM drive
  14. 18 MB hard drive space (see below)
  15. SVGA 256-color adapter (high color recommended)

  18. Installation
  19. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20. Prior to the installation of a new version, you should always
  21. remove any previous version. (See Uninstall below)
  22.  
  23. Run Setup.exe or Autorun.exe on the CD to start the installation
  24.  
  25. Disk space requirements are based upon how much you choose to install:
  26. FULL INSTALL:    85 MB
  27. RUN FROM CD:    18 MB
  28.  
  29. **Important**
  30. If you choose the RUN FROM CD option during setup, you will need to keep the
  31. Professor Franklin CD-ROM in the drive while using the program.

  34. Uninstall
  35. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36. To Uninstall, access the Uninstall icon located in the Professor Franklin's
  37. program group, or use the Windows control panel to add/remove programs.

  39. After the uninstall process has completed, you may need to use My Computer
  40. or Windows Explorer to remove any remaining files from the installation directory.

  43. Tips
  44. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  45. Be sure to access tips by clicking on the image of the Professor located in the upper
  46. right hand side of the menu bar. These tips will help you with information and
  47. suggestions about every category and style.

  50. Word 8 Templates
  51. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52. When using a template that contains a table in Word 8, you need only to enter
  53. information in the first cell. Then, update the table by using Edit...Select All and
  54. then pressing F9. This will copy the text into the remaining cells.
  55.  
  56. For example, if using a business card, enter your information into the upper left
  57. card only. Then, from the Edit menu in Word, click on Select All. Next, press F9. 
  58. This will copy the text that you entered in the first card into the other 9 cards
  59. on the sheet. Printing the document will also automatically update the table and print
  60. the information into all 10 cards.

  62. Be sure to use the correct stock (paper) as indicated on the template selector
  63. dialog. For business cards, use Avery 5371 or equivalent. For Postcards, use
  64. Avery 5389 or equivalent. For Greeting Cards (that fold) use Avery 5315 or equivalent.

  66. When printing out greeting cards, brochures, postcards and any other 2-sided documents,
  67. you will need to print page one first and then re-insert the paper into the printer to
  68. print side two. Your printer driver software may have a function for 2-sided printing.
  69. Please consult your printer documentation for more details.

  71. Page Setup
  72. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73. If you do not currently have a printer installed in your Windows system and you 
  74. attempt to access Page Setup, you will see an error "Please enter a number".
  75. If this happens, exit Page Setup and install printer dirver in your Windows
  76. system.

  78. Server Busy Error
  79. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80. Under certain conditions, you may receive an error titled "Server Busy" during
  81. the filling in of a template. If this happens, just click on Retry to continue.

  84. Undoing Multiple Times
  85. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  86. When you need to Undo multiple effects, it is best to allow the screen to repaint
  87. the first Undo prior to clicking on Undo again. If you click Undo multiple times
  88. without allowing the screen to refresh, you may experience an Illegal Function
  89. error that may cause you to lose your work. This happens primarily with slower
  90. machines or machines with slow video cards.
