<p>When you download transactions, Money attempts to match them to transactions you've entered manually in the register. If Money has matched a downloaded transaction to the wrong register item, you can unmatch it. You can also choose to match the downloaded transaction to a different item. </p>

<p><emph>Unmatch transactions in a bank or credit card account</emph></p>
<ol>
<li>In the <glossary>account register</glossary>, click the transaction you want to unmatch, and then click <emph>Change</emph>.</li>
<li>Do one of the following:</li>
<ul>
<li>To keep the bank item as a separate transaction in your register, click <emph>Don't match these transactions</emph>.</li>
<li>To match the bank item to something else in your register, click <emph>Match the bank transaction to a different item</emph>, and select the check box or check boxes for the register items you want to match to the bank item. </li>
<p>If the transaction you want to match it to is dimmed, it has been matched to another item. You will have to unmatch that transaction before you can select it.</p>
</ul>
<li>Click <emph>Done</emph>.</li>
</ol>
<p><emph>Unmatch transactions in an investment cash account</emph></p>
<ol>
<li>After you've downloaded a statement from your brokerage, go to the <emph>Review investment holdings</emph> page.</li>

<li>Find your investment account, and click <emph>Transactions to read</emph>.</li>

<li>Click the transaction, and do one of the following:</li>

<li>To store the downloaded item as a separate transaction in your cash account, click <emph>This is a new transaction, add it to my register</emph>.</li>
<li>To match the downloaded item to a different transaction, click <emph>Choose a transaction from my register</emph>. In the <emph>Match Transaction</emph> dialog box, select one or more transactions to match to the downloaded item.</li>
</ul>
<li>When you've reviewed all downloaded transactions, click <emph>Done</emph>.</li>
</ol>
<p variant="note">If you've already accepted a match, you cannot unmatch the transactions. If you've accepted a match and want to change it, edit the transaction in the register.</p>

<p>A downloaded transaction will not have a <emph>Change</emph> button if you have already accepted the transaction into the register. To revise a transaction you've accepted, edit it directly in the register.</p>

You must unmatch it before you can match it to a different transaction. If a matched transaction has already been accepted or cleared, you cannot unmatch it.</p>
