<tease>I don't know whether to back up or archive my Money file.</tease>
<reveal>
<p>When you back up, you simply copy the contents of your Money file. <alink type="prcdr" href="backupmyfile.xml"/></p>
<p>Archiving goes a step further by removing old transactions from your file to keep it to a manageable size. Your archived file contains transactions for all your accounts within the date range you specify. <alink type="prcdr" href="ArchiverYourRecords.xml"/></p>

<tease>I don't want to include all of my accounts in the archived file, but I'm not sure what will happen to the ones that I don't select.</tease>
<reveal>
<p>Because Money makes a complete copy of your file during the archive process, all of your accounts will be saved in the archived file. When you select accounts during the archive process, you're choosing which accounts will be removed from your active Money file. If you don't select an account to archive, that account and its transactions will reside in both the archived file and the active Money file.</p>

<tease>I can't tell which file is my archived file.</tease>
<reveal>
<p>The easiest way to identify your archived files is to assign unique file names, such as "1999 Archived.mny." If you don't remember which folder you stored your file in, use your operating system's Find or Search feature to locate the file. In general, store your Money files in one location to make them easier to retrieve in the future.</p>

<p>If you made separate Money files for your personal and business accounts, you'll need to create separate archived files for each of your Money files.</p>
