<p>You can use the Value Added Tax (VAT) tracking feature to keep track of VAT, GST, or sales tax paid.</p>

<li>On the <emph>Tools</emph> menu, click <emph>Options</emph>.</li>
<li>Click the <emph>Categories</emph> tab.</li>
<li>Select <emph>Enable support for Value Added Tax (VAT)</emph>, and then click <emph>OK</emph>.</li>
<li>On the <emph>Accounts & Bills</emph> menu, click <emph>Account List</emph>, and then click the account you want to use.</li>
<li>In the left pane, click <emph>Change account details</emph>.</li>
<li>Select the <emph>VAT enabled</emph> box. (This box appears only if the option has been selected in Step 3.)</li>
<li>On the <emph>Accounts & Bills</emph> menu, click <emph>Categories & Payees</emph>.</li>
<li>Double-click a category to open it, and then type the rate in the <emph>VAT Rate</emph> box.</li>
</ol>
<p>When you enter a new withdrawal for that category, the VAT or GST tax portion of the transaction is automatically calculated from the total amount. If you enter a payee and Money autofills the amount, you need to enter the amount again so the tax portion will be calculated.</p>
<p>You can view your VAT amounts in several reports in the Reports Gallery. On the <emph>Reports</emph> menu, click <emph>Reports Gallery</emph>, and then to go one of the following reports:</p>

<li>In the left pane, click <emph>Taxes</emph>, and then double-click <emph>Value Added Tax by VAT Rate</emph>.</li>
<li>In the left pane, click <emph>Taxes</emph>, and then double-click <emph>Value Added Tax by Category</emph>.</li>
<li>In the left pane, click <emph>What I Have</emph>, and then double-click <emph>Account Balance History</emph>. In the left pane, click <emph>Customize</emph>, click the <emph>Rows & Columns</emph> tab, and select the <emph>VAT Amounts</emph> check box. Then click <emph>OK</emph>.</li>
