<tease>How does the StockScouter Rating system work?</tease>
<reveal>
<p>StockScouter uses statistics and software to objectively determine which stocks are expected to do well over the next six months. Stocks are rated from 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. Stocks rated 8 to 10 are expected to do better than the stock market as a whole; those rated 1 to 3 are expected to do worse.</p>
<p>Ratings are primarily based on grades for four factors: technical, valuation, ownership, and fundamental data. Some factors carry more weight than others in the calculations. Risk (or volatility) also influences the ratings. If two stocks have the same predicted return on investment, the one with lower risk will get a higher rating.</p>
