<p>You may have a large, one-time expenditure that you don't want to include in your budget, even though you want to track the category. For example, you may regularly track small expenditures such as oil changes in Automobile: Maintenance. However, you may not want your budget to track expensive car repairs that you enter in Money under the same category, Automobile: Maintenance. If you want, you can exclude that large transaction from your budget while still tracking the rest of the expenses in that category.</p>

<li>On the <emph>Planner</emph> menu, click <emph>Budget Planner</emph>.</li>
<li>Under <emph>Budget details</emph>, double-click the category with the transaction you want to exclude.</li>
<li>Right-click the transaction, and then click <emph>Exclude from budget</emph>.</li>
</ol>
<p variant="note">You can also exclude budgeted transactions from the account register or include them in your budget if they have been previously excluded.</p>

<li>Right-click the transaction, and then select whether you want exclude or include the transaction.</li>
