<p>Retirement accounts are a tax-deferred type of investment account you can create and track in Money. Their investments are meant to provide income in retirement, so the IRS may charge extra taxes or penalties if you withdraw them before retirement.</p>
<p>With a retirement account, you can:</p>
<ul>
<li>Track the current and running balance of the account.</li>
<li>Track employee and employer contributions, if applicable.</li>
<li>Track the investments you buy and sell through your retirement account.</li>

<p>Retirement accounts you can create in Money include:</p>
<ul>
<li><emph>IRA accounts.</emph> This can include traditional <glossary tNum="287023">IRAs</glossary>, <glossary tNum="287077">Roth IRAs</glossary>, <glossary tNum="287084">SEP</glossary>, and <glossary tNum="287080">SIMPLE IRAs</glossary>.</li>
<li><emph>401(k) and 403(b) accounts.</emph> These are employer-sponsored plans where you contribute pretax dollars from your paycheck to an investment fund. Your company usually matches a percentage of your contribution.</li>
