<p>To track unrelated accounts, such as those for yourself and those for a dependent, you should maintain separate Money files. Information is not shared between Money files<mdash/>the reports and charts reflect the information only for the file that is currently open. If you have several accounts, including business accounts and accounts for someone you plan finances with, you should probably use just one file. You can easily track different accounts and categories in Money.</p>

<li>On the <emph>File</emph> menu, point to <emph>New</emph>, and then click <emph>New File</emph>.</li>
<li>In the <emph>Save in</emph> box, click the directory where you want to save the new file.</li>
<li>In the <emph>File name</emph> box, type a name for the new file.</li>
<p>Money adds the file name extension .mny automatically.</p>
