<p variant="note">Money's Autobudget may use data from your file to get you started.</p>
<ol>
<li>On the <emph>Planner</emph> menu, click <emph>Budget Planner</emph>.</li>
<li>Create your first budget or another budget:</li>
<ul>
<li>If you're creating your first budget in Money, click <emph>Create a budget</emph> on the welcome page, and then go to step 3.</li>
<li>If you've already created a budget in Money and want to create another one, click <emph>Create a new budget</emph> in the left pane, and then follow the instructions on the screen.</li>
<li>If you had a budget in an earlier version of Money and want to start a new one, click <emph>Start over with a new budget</emph> on the welcome page.</li>
</ul>
<li>On the <emph>Learn about the budget</emph> page, select whether you want to Autobudget to pre-fill your budget with amounts and categories from your file or start your budget with only recurring transactions and default budget categories.</li> Click <emph>Next</emph>.
<p variant="note">If you have less than a month's data in your Money file, you will not see the Autobudget options.</p>
<li>On the <emph>Enter your income</emph> page, enter or edit the income that you want to include in your budget, delete any budget groups or categories that you don't want to include, and then click <emph>Next</emph>.</li>
<li>On the <emph>Enter your expenses</emph> page, enter the spending limits that you want to set for your expenses, delete any budget groups or categories that you don't want to include, and then click <emph>Next</emph>.</li>
<li>Select whether you want to spend or save any unbudgeted income:</li>
<ul>
<li>If you want to spend it, click <emph>Spend all excess income</emph>, and then click <emph>Next</emph>.</li>
<li>If you want to save it, click <emph>Save some or all excess income towards goals</emph>, set savings goals if you want, and then click <emph>Next</emph>.</li>
</ul>
<li>Review your budget summary, and then click <emph>Previous</emph> to edit your budget if necessary.</li>
<li>When you're satisfied with your budget, click <emph>Finish</emph>.</li>
<li>Familiarize yourself with the <emph>Review your current budget status</emph> page, where you can see how you're doing whenever you check on your budget in the future.</li>
