For information on using the printer functions, refer to the Balloon Help.
5. Cautions, Limitations, and Restrictions
1. If the printer software is forced to quit while printing, your Macintosh may become inoperable and consequently you may have to restart it.
2. When you print with a photo ink, use of High Resolution Paper or Glossy Paper is recommended.
Note: If you print on plain paper with the photo ink, ink blurs may occur depending on the type of paper you use. To solve the problem, drag the density slide lever to the left in the colour panel.
3. If you connect the printer before or while the computer is started, a problem may occur in the system. Wait until the computer startup process is completed and the Desktop is displayed before connecting the printer.
4. A communication error may occur during printing if the printer is connected directly to the USB hub of the Apple Pro keyboard. In this case, connect the printer directly to the computer.
5. If you're running MacOS 8.5 and the Application Switcher window appears, the system can becomes unstable if you print something with the window open. Close the window before printing anything.
6. Rotated or modified image data may not be able to be printed in QuarkXPress.
7. A system error may occur during background printing depending on the operating system version you are using or the printed data. In this case, set [Backgrounding] to [Off] in the Chooser and then print again.
8. If you leave the Page Setup dialogue box, etc., open when using a print server, no data can be sent from the client server.
9. If the message "M306 (or D306) Communication error" appears continuously during printing, restart your computer.
10. When the Multiple User function of Mac OS 9 is ON, a print error may occur if a Normal user, a Limited user or a Panels user logs into the computer after someone has logged out without restarting the computer. In this case, restart the computer.
11. If the Multiple User function of Mac OS 9 is ON in a computer that is set as the printer server, communication will be disconnected when the computer is restarted or the system is terminated. Check that the printer server is not receiving print data, and then restart or terminate the system.
