- Allgood Solitaire v3.0
- by Mike Perry, October 24, 2002
-
- Welcome to Allgood Solitaire (previously named Poor Man's Solitaire),
- version 3.0, now converted to Carbon, and running natively under
- OS X. (finally)
-
- What's New in version 3.0, you ask?
-
- * Can quickly find cards in the layout, by holding down a number key.
- * Port to Carbon, now runs native under OS X.
- * Several minor bug fixes that showed themselves during the port.
- * Update to Navigation Services, no longer uses the older File Save/Open
- style dialogs.
-
- Getting Started:
-
- Select the Game you'd like to play from the "Games" menu, and then
- start playing! There are 65 games supported now, each of them with
- different building rules and pile layout. Check the main
- instructions manual for details about games you aren't already
- familiar with, or check the "Game Rulesâ•”" item under the Options
- menu. To start another game with the current game selection,
- just select "New Game" from the File menu.
-
-
- Moving Cards:
-
- Cards are moved by dragging and dropping them on to the desired
- location. In games like Klondike, and Canifield, where cards may be
- moved in blocks, simply grab the top card of the block, and the
- lower cards will come along for the ride. (don't forget, you can
- split sequences in most games). To remove pairs in Monte Carlo, and
- other pair matching games. Drag one card on to its mate, and both
- will be removed to the Waste pile. For games like Will O the Wisp,
- when sequences of King down to Ace in suit are formed, they are removed
- automatically. With CAPS LOCK on, available destinations will hilight when
- you grab a card.
-
- Undo:
-
- To undo a card move, use the "Undo" item under the "Edit" menu. You
- can Undo until the beginning of the game, or the last reshuffle.
- (Reshuffling is not undo-able, I'm afraid).
-
-
- Options, and ways to Cheat:
-
- The "Pile Options" menu offers a number of ways to make the game
- easier to play (i.e. CHEAT!), and more importantly, make it easier to
- learn new games if you haven't played them before. "Show Pile Names"
- will label each pile type, making it a lot easier to learn new games.
- "Show Next Card" will turn on building hints, if a pile can be built
- on, it tells you which card(s) are allowed to be added to the pile.
- "Show Aces", will show you where the Aces are if they are face down
- and buried (as in Klondike, Yukon, etc...). "Shortcuts..." will show
- you the click-modifiers that allow you to auto-play, and to view the
- entire contents of a pile.
-
-
- System Requirements:
-
- Allgood Solitaire v3.0 can be played on any Mac running OS 10.1
- or higher. Alternatively, it can be run on Macs running OX 8.6
- and above, if CarbonLib 1.4 extension is present. (this can be
- downloaded, free of charge, from the Apple website).
-
-
- License:
-
- Allgood Solitaire is Shareware, with a cost of $15. Try it out for a while,
- and if you decide to keep it, please play the registration fee.
- Registration is easy to do, and will enable us to spend more time
- improving the software. (Upgrades are always free to registered
- users). When you register, you will be given a code to turn off the
- periodic shareware messages that appear during the game.
