  7. This document contains information about the InternetMeter
  8. Inlay.  Please read through this document carefully.
  9. We recommend that you also print a copy of this document and 
  10. save it for future reference.

  12. The InternetMeter Inlay is only a preview of the many features of
  13. Starfish Internet Utilities, which includes the InternetMeter full
  14. version and much more. Starfish Internet Utilities features:
  15. -- InternetMeter full version - track your time online, all 
  16.    the time!
  17. -- QuickMarks - organize and save your bookmarks and instantly  
  18.    monitor changes in your favorite Web sites!
  19. -- QuickZip - zip and unzip files in just one step!
  20. -- InternetClock - automatically correct your system clock with an  
  21.    ultra-accurate Internet time server!

  45. The default directory for installation is Program Files\
  46. Starfish\Internet Utilities. After you install, you will see
  47. the InternetMeter icon displayed in your Windows 95 taskbar 
  48. (also known as the status area or system tray).

  51. 2. USING INTERNETMETER 
  52. ======================

  54. The InternetMeter Inlay can be used with Microsoft
  55. Internet Explorer version 3.0 or Netscape Navigator 
  56. version 2.0 or later. In addition to the Inlay itself, 
  57. which appears on your Web pages, the InternetMeter includes 
  58. a call log. This call log contains a record of your Web 
  59. browsing and searching activities, as well as a record 
  60. of your online communcations with other 32-bit TAPI and 
  61. TCP/IP applications, such as Netscape Navigator or 
  62. Microsoft Fax.

  64. To use the Inlay:

  66. 1. Start Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
  67. 2. The InternetMeter Inlay appears in the top right corner 
  68. of your browser. 
  69. 3. Right-click the InternetMeter Inlay and use the
  70. shortcut menu to view detailed information about your online
  71. session.

  73. For more information, right-click the InternetMeter Inlay 
  74. and click the Help menu item.

  77. 3.  LIMITATIONS
  78. ===============

  80. Limitations include:
  81.  
  82.    - When you view the Modem Setup dialog for the 
  83.      InternetMeter, you get the modem properties for 
  84.      the first modem installed. You cannot change to other 
  85.      modems.  As a workaround, use the Windows 95 Control 
  86.      Panel for your other modems.
  87.  
  88. Note: Online and Internet service providers vary in their policies
  89. concerning their billing practices, such as in their methods for
  90. rounding up the hours spent or billing in minimum time increments.
  91. They also may change their policies. InternetMeter does not 
  92. account for all such variables. Although InternetMeter will reflect
  93. the actual time spent online, that time may not correspond to
  94. your final bill from your service provider.

  97. 4.  REMOVING INTERNETMETER

  100. To remove InternetMeter:

  102. 1.  Right-click the InternetMeter taskbar icon and click
  103.     Close InternetMeter on the shortcut menu.
  104. 2.  Open the Windows 95 Control Panel.
  105. 3.  Select Add/Remove Programs.  Then select Starfish 
  106.     InternetMeter from the list. If you also have Starfish
  107.     Internet Utilities installed, you cannot uninstall only
  108.     the InternetMeter Inlay.
  109. 4.  Click the Add/Remove button.
