  3. Welcome to the Software Distribution System!

  5. The Software Distribution System, otherwise known as "SDS" was the
  6. original FidoNet File distribution system.
  7.  
  8. This particular File Distribution Area is called "SDSRA" and is for
  9. the Distribution of RA BBS Related Files.
  10.  
  11. Other File Distribution Areas within the Software Distribution System are
  12. as follows:

  14.     SOFTDIST - GENERAL, of FidoNet-Related Interest Files.
  15.     SDSOTHER - General BBS-Related Files Not Included in Other Areas.
  16.     SDS-BBS  - BBS-Related files for multiple systems.
  17.                (For when a file covers more than one target BBS system)
  18.     SDSADMIN - Administrative Files, and SDS Policy Decision Files.
  19.     NEWSLETR - NEWSLETTERS Distribution Area.
  20.     SDSTEXT  - Newsletters and Text not relating to FidoNet.
  21.     ECHOLIST - FidoNet ECHOLIST Distribution Area.
  22.     SDSOPUS  - Opus CBCS Distribution Area.
  23.     SDSMAX   - Maximus CBCS Distribution Area.
  24.     SDSBINK  - BinkleyTerm Distribution Area.
  25.     SDSFRONT - Front Door Distribution Area.
  26.     SDSRA    - RA Distribution Area.
  27.     SDSQUICK - Quick BBS Distribution Area.
  28.     SDSRBBS  - RBBS Distribution Area.
  29.     SDSWC    - WildCat Distribution Area.
  30.     SDSXBBS  - XBBS Distribution Area.
  31.     SDSSBBS  - SBBS Distribution Area.
  32.     SDSWWIV  - WWIV Distribution Area.
  33.     SDSFIDO  - Fido Distribution Area.
  34.     SDSTPB   - TPB Distribution Area.
  35.     FTSC     - FidoNet Technical Standards Committee Files.
  36.     SDSOS2   - OS/2 Related Utilities for BBS Use.
  37.     SDSMODEM - Modem Related Files (Setups, SYSOP Pricing, etc.)

  39. These file areas are subject to change based on usage and new trends.
  40. If you think you would like to see additional SDS areas, please let
  41. your Regional SDS Coordinator know.  If the Coordinators believe traffic
  42. in a specific area no longer warrants a separate area, specific areas of
  43. low utilization may be removed.

  45. If you wish to submit a file into distribution, you should first read
  46. the Software Distribution System Policy and Procedures Guide to ensure
  47. your program meets the criteria to be distributed by the SDS, and once
  48. you are sure it meets the criteria, you must submit it to your Regional
  49. SDS Coordinator for hatching.  A list of the SDS Regional Coordinators
  50. follows:
