  4. NOTE: For purposes of maintenance at bigger archive sites, I have
  5. renamed the files to include a version number. Copy these files to
  6. one or more floppies, each of which must contain a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE,
  7. and rename the files as follows:

  9. SURFMAI3.ZIP  -->  SURFMAIN.ZIP
  10. SURFDAT3.ZIP  -->  SURFDATA.ZIP
  11. SURFDOC3.ZIP  -->  SURFDOC.ZIP
  12. SURFEMU3.ZIP  -->  SURFEMUL.ZIP
  13. SURFIFF3.ZIP  -->  SURFIFF.ZIP
  14. SURFPRN3.ZIP  -->  SURFPRNT.ZIP
  15. SURFSRC3.ZIP  -->  SURFSRC.ZIP

  23. TO INSTALL TO A HARD DRIVE:
  24.  
  25. Simply put the SURFMODL installation disk #1 into a floppy drive,
  26. and run the SURFINST program from it.  For instance, if you use
  27. floppy drive A: you would type:
  28.   A:SURFINST
  29.  
  30. You will be asked what drive you are installing from, and be
  31. given a brief menu of choices.  You can select the full installation,
  32. or just to update the configuration.  You should select the full
  33. installation.  You will then get a menu of modules, and be given
  34. the choice of whether to install each module or not.  You will also
  35. be allowed to change all of the default destination directories and
  36. disk drives.

  39. TO INSTALL TO A FLOPPY DRIVE:

  41. You will have to manually install SURFMODL by selectively unpacking
  42. the archives you want.  Start by getting the SURFDOC files:
  43.   A:PKUNZIP A:SURFDOC.ZIP
  44. Look at FILES.IDX for a list of files in each module.  At a minimum,
  45. you will need SURMODL.EXE, *.BGI, and SURFINST.EXE on a disk.  Run
  46. SURFINST, but when presented with the first menu just select the
  47. option to change the configuration.
